This is the place that stopped my trips to Blockbuster and the other video rental places around the county. At the Abingdon Library there are lot of movies on DVD and VHS, including movies that had just come out. Of course everything is free here, so it?s a very good deal.

Box Hill Pizzeria & Carryout

This is one of the main attractions in the little town of Abingdon, Maryland. Their main claim to fame is the crab cake sandwich which is one of the tastiest in all the county, even though there are plenty of places that sell them. Their portions are very big too so you won?t walk away hungry.

computer renaissance

Even though my business was small, that is personal, this company treated my computer problem as a top priority. They were able to repair my crashed desktop less than 2 days after my call. Because my desktop could be considered a "dinosaur" in the techy world, I was worried. But these guys explained and fixed the problem.

Fantasy Glass Studio LLC

If you need a custom piece of stainglass work, this is the place to call. We needed custom cabinet doors and my wife wanted something very special. We called fantasy glass and they were able to custom create something for us that exceeded our expectations. Even creating the cabinet inserts ourselves would have cost more. What they do for their fee is beyond belief. You will love it.

Roman's Florist & Gifts

Another full service florist that delivers big on fresh beautiful arrangements. They'll provide delivery to both hospitals and funeral homes. I went into their shop and purchased a plant for a colleague that had just had a baby. I was impressed with the array of gift giving options available-- plants/flowers both fresh and silk, giftwares and various gourmet baskets. The shop itself is well organized and kept very well. I wouldn't hesitate to order flowers from them as the houseplant has, apparently, held up beautifully.

Dundalk Florist

This is a neat family owned florist that serves up big on service. They are able to deliver nation wide and can provide both FTD and teleflora arrangements. But this is not all, they are also a nersery and garden center. We went there to find mums-- not only are they beautiful , the quality is great. They also have a gift store and can provide ballooons, gifts ,or chocolate with your gift of flowers. Prices are fair.

A A Richardson's Flowers

Walking into this shop is a feast for the eyes and soul. Beautiful flowers all around and neat giftwares as well. This is a full service florist that allows you to pick your arrangment from books OR customize based on needs. You are NOT required to stick with that "exact" FTD arrangement at this shop. They will work with your price limits and they are available to do large events. Cash and carry flowers are also available, but around holidays be careful- they get busy and you might want to preorder.

box hill baber shop

About six weeks to the day from when we moved to town, I needed a hair cut. I looked in the phone book and unfortunately all he could find were places 5 miles or more away. Remembering my last trip to the post office, I thought "I think their is a new barber place in the box hill plaza." Sure enough, he took a walk and found Box Hill Barber shop.

The shop is clean and inviting. Wait time is minimal and prices are good. My wife says I always comes home looking more presentable than when I left! The barber told me that other towns surrounding us all had more competition and that's why he settled in Abingdon. So finally convenience reaches our little town

Tollgate Liquors

Beer, wine, and spirits, are all available in this handy location across from the Harford Mall. The selection is good (e.g., when I wanted a special Tequila it was easy to spot and as were my "back up" options) and the store is clean and brightly lit (when the fusebox is working!).

They also often have samples!! This was amazing to me... Once I was offered a white sangria and they always have a couple wines open (usually a red and a white). Their prices are very reasonable and they often have specials.

Stephens & Stephens

Even if you aren't in the market for a new grandfather clock, this quaint shop that overlooks the Chesapeake is a real treat. They stock a full range of contemporary, larger clocks and also antique clocks of all sizes. Repairing antique clocks is becoming a lost art as the store keeper will explain to you if you just ask. My father had such a nice time in the clock shop talking to the proprieter that we left him there for 30 minutes while we browsed around town. Most of the clocks are rare and old , with prices that speak to those facts. Didn't seem to bother the owners that we were browsing.
