The Oakland Airport is a lot smaller than the San Francisco International Airport. But I always try to schedule my flights here instead if I can since its a closer drive for me. I dont think they are an international airport though, I think all the flights that go to and from here are domestic.
Ive been to a couple of baseball games with my friends at the McAfee Coliseum or Oakland Coliseum as its more commonly known. Its a pretty nice place but it does get crowded and causes a lot of traffic on the freeway with people trying to exit into the Coliseum parking lot.
Riptide Arcade is located right at the entrance into Pier 39 on the right side. They are on the ground level. The times Ive been there there were hardly anyone inside playing games, in fact, it was practically empty almost. I dont know whether it was the high prices or whether it was because it was a weekday but it made my friends and I walk back out without even bother to play a game.
One of my friends lives in Pleasanton and she had invited me to her family picnic at the Rapids Waterslides a couple of years ago. There are really only four water slides that are built into the hillsides. The slides are all open flumes that wind a little as you slide down. They are not really fancy slides like those you would find at Waterworld in Concord but they are fun anyways.
I always take the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) to get to school in San Francisco. They have a BART station within walking distance from my school. The trains are kept fairly clean since they dont allow food or drinks inside them and I feel safe enough to even fall asleep while riding it.
The Great Mall is a huge place. It used to be an car manufacturing factory owned by Ford, I think or one of those car makers. Anyway, it was converted into a mall with a lot of outlet stores like Wilsons Leather, Childrens Place, Burlington Coat Factory. They also have a big food court but, unfortunately, the food selection there isnt very good.
My friends and I have gone to the Winchester Mystery House a couple of times and really had a great time. They have guided tours and I have to admit that it is really weird inside. But architecturally, it is actually a beautiful house with a red roof. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with even a beautiful water fountain in the front.
My friends and I often go to the Scandia Family Center for fun. They have a lot of other activities besides the miniature golf. They even sell passes so you can save money if you want to do multiple activities. They recently added laser tag to their list of fun activities there.
My high school class had a field trip to the California Palace of the Legion of Honor once and I have to say that it has a few beautiful works of art but they are kind of dry to me. Ive been to Paris with my dad before this when he was stationed in Europe and they had beautiful works of art at the Louvre there. This place pales in comparison.
I dont know why anyone would buy jewelry from the Silver Treasures store. It is so overpriced and their jewelry are like stuff from flea markets or something. The designs are nothing special that I could see like cross pendants and alphabet letter pendants which makes me wonder why there are a lot of people that go in there to look at there merchandise at all.
