My cousin recently got married at St Anne of the Sunset located on Judah Street in San Francisco. This is one of the most beautiful Catholic Churches in the city. It is located on a very busy street and parking is difficult. However, the church is well mainatined. It is always clean and inviting. I love the marble flooring of the alter, the beautiful stained glass windows and the stations of the cross. There are many convenient times for mass on Sunday. Overall, its a beautiful church that is very inviting.
I recently changed my health plan at work so that I would not have to go see a doctor at Kaiser hospital anymore. I think that Kaiser is one of the worst hospitals in the city. There are so many people in this health plan, that the hospitals are always so busy. It takes a long time to actually schedule an appointment to see a doctor. The PCPs are okay if you want to prevent disease. However, if somehing is wrong with you, it becomes a problem.I don't think that they have well trained physicians. They only see you for about 10 minutes and are always rushing. I never got any real substantial answers to my questions. And once I needed a second opinion and they sent me to another Kaiser doctor. It was all very useless.Kaiser is just an institution interested in manking money. Their plans are getting more and more expemsive, yet the patient still has a high copay for many things. This is why I left the Kaiser system
This is a fairly smaller hospital compared with the other hospitals in the bay area. However, the service and compassion of the health care workers compensate. My cousin had foot surgery at this hospital (in the surgery center). Everyone was very friendly. The nursing staff was very reassuring and made the situation light and airy. We had a small private room that was very clean and well mainatined. Parking was very easy as well as free.Overall, it was a great expereince considering the impending surgery. But overall, everything worked out well. It was all very comfortable.
My grandmother was taken to this hospital by ambulance, and I was not very impressed. She was put in a private room, but everything seemed so dingy. And there was not much activity, it was very hard to get ahold of staff/medical teams. Everything was very nonchalant. No one seemed to be on the alert.
Overall, it was not the best experience. I felt that the doctors and nurses just did not do enough for the patients.
Bursa Kabob is a cozy little turkish restaurant on West Portal Avenue. Jihad has owned this restaurant for the past three years (it used to be French Village before).
The restaurant has a great atmosphere to it. The color scheme inside is a olive color green with nice chandaliers hanging. The waitstaff are very friendly, trying to help you as quickly as possible.
Bursa Kabob serves lunch and dinner, but its more famous for dinner since lunch is a little pricy. Of course the best thing to order are kabobs, whether lamb, beef, chicken, or veggie. Dinner comes with rice and fresh veggies. Everything is well seasoned and very good. I love to eat knafe here. It is a wonderful filo dough and cheese dessert. Perfection.
I highly recommend this restaurant. It does get crowded on Friday and Saturday nights so be prepared. But it well worth it.
My husband and I bought our wedding bands from Mr Bock on West Potal Avenue. My parents used to visit Mr Bock for any kind of jewerly repair or purchase of jewerly. He is a very kind and honest man. He has a thick dutch accent so sometimes he is hard to understand. But he is the sweetest person. He tries very hard to help you pick out something nice and gives you a fair deal. I never felt pressured into buying anything. He will spend an hour with you and if you decide not to purchase anything, he will never get pushy or upset.
Feel free to trust Mr Bock. He is a genuine person who you can trust. And he knows alot about jewerly because he has been in the business for so long.
This library is one of the largest libraries in the bay area. If you ever need a book, movie or any type of reference that you cannot find, this is the place for you.
It seems like this library has about 100 floors. I enjoy the computer area the best because you can do all kinds of research: both library based and google based. There is always someone around to help you.
It is very safe in this library. Even though its located in the busy downtown area and open to the public, there are many security guards around to help you feel safe.
I suggest taking public transportation if you plan on visiting the main library. There are metered parking spaces available, if you want to pay twenty five cents every 15 minutes.
This is a fairly new library in Millbrae. It was remodeled about a year or so ago. It is very close to where I live and there is a convenient lot for parking your car. It is loacted in the area right behind Mervyn's and it is in a safe area.
The library inside is very nice. Once you enter, you see the little help desk and a wall with advertisements about public transporation and kids events at the library. I like the kids events at this library, they are often and look fun. There is a huge selection of books and there is also a massive amount of computers available. You do have to get a library card to stay on the computers for more than an hour. However, you can log in as a guest as well.
There are a few "private rooms" for study groups. Overall, its one of the better lobraries in the area. Everything is new and the people are very helpful.
My friend recommended this family owned Indian restaurant located on Jones Street in San Francisco. I was a little skeptical going to this area of San Francisco, but she told me that it was safe. And since I did go at lunch time, it was a safe neighborhood.
The service was great. As soon as I sat down, the waiter gave me water and some yummy garlic nan. He took my order quickly even though they were busy. They have a lot to choose form on the menu. I do not like thick curry sauces so I choose a spicy chicken dish that they BBQ over this clay oven. It was great: perfectly seasoned and not dry. And the whole meal was only 7 dollars.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. But if you are going at night, make sure you go with a group of people because the area is not all that great.
I was not really impressed with the stylists at Blade Runners.. Being on Haight Street, I was not surprised that the setting and people would be a liitle "punkish". But that is not the reason I don't recommend it. The prices are way to high for the kind of service. The lady that flat ironed my hair charged 60 bucks and it was frizzy and unruly. She told me that it was my hair's fault. It would not straighten. Thats balony. Other stylists have done the job. So if you want nice service at that kind of price, might as well go some place better. Its not worth it here.
