Crystal Way
I like this particular bookstore because of the size, located, and quiet atmosphere. If it never really crowded so yo ucan browse title without being distracted by all the surrounding people. Its a great place to relax with a great book where you can read just enough to realize if you want to buy it or not. The workers are very friendly, asking if you need help. The prices are a little higher than the chain bookstores, but they have to be to survive.
Bibliohead Bookstore
I stumbled across this independently owned bookstore on the web and decided to check it out. I was looking for a particular book that was really hard to find. The lady behind the counter was really friendly and helpful. I later found out that she was the owner of the store. She helped me find what I was looking for. They have a great selection of used and new books. I have returned several times and have found interesting books that I may not pick up if they were new. But the prices are great that I could not resist. I like supporting this bookstore because the owner id very friendly, always with a smile on her face ready to help. And she has a nice little store with some great deals.
Pinky Nails
This is a great "hole in the wall" nail salon that offers quality manicures at reasonable prices. I notice that at some "cheaper salons", the nail polish chips easily, but this salon, they use a good quality polish. The lady that did my nails was very patient when I wanted to pick a color. She also had some suggestions on what color would best fit my skin color. I really appreciated this beacuse I always have a hard time choosing the color. And she made great small talk, I forgot that the time went by and she was finished. Overall, my visit was a good one. I would recommend this nail salon. It has great customer service, good hygiene, and good quality polish at an affordable price.
Nail and Skin Care Salon
After getting a haircut at the salon a few doors down, sometimes I like to treat myself to a quick mancure and pedicure. I always make sure to have an appointment scheduled because this nail salon often gets really busy. The ladies are very friendly and remember you if you visit multiple times. Everything in the salon is very clean and their instruments are often cleanedd right in front of the client. They also have other services such as waxing and facials. I personally have never tried them, but their prices are pretty rasonable.
kamalaspa
Located in the hustle and bustle of downtown San Francisco, this spa really has its niche. They are best known for their variety of massages. I recieved a gift certificate for this spa beacuse all of my friends know that I love to "spa shop". Everything inside was very serene. Just walking in the spa calms you down and sets everything at ease. The Indian decor is really beautiful. I recieved a 30 minute back massage and it felt like heaven. It was a four handed massage. Very interesting concept receiveing a massage from 2 insync therapists at once. The prices are a bit steep, but its well worth it to pamper yourself.. I would recommend this spa to others beacuse of the warmth of the atmosphere and the quality of the work.
Zen Beauty Spa
I really was not too impressed with the Zen Beauty Spa on West Portal Avenue. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted and asked if you would like to have tea or coffee. I found that nice. When the lady did my mini facial, she would not stop talking. And her talking was incessant, non stop the whole entire time. The product that she used made my skin feel soft, but it was really nothing special. And the prices were a little high for the quality of work. Next time, if I want to pamper myself, I might as well do it somewhere thats comfortable for me. If I am going to pay that much for a facial, it will be with someone that can respect the mood.
Sanfilippo II Philip B DPM
Dr Sanphilippo helped me with a minor foot problem about a month ago. He was a very pleasant man and took his time with me. He answered all of my questions to the best of his ability. I think that he tried everything that he could to help me. He seemed like areally genuine person. He even asked his colleuge, Dr tavosky for a second opinion. Overall, i felt vey comfotable with his work.
Qare, Elias, Dds - Family Dental
A good freind of mine referred me to Dr Qare's office for teeth whitening. Dr Qare uses the laser method to whiten teeth. when I entered the office I was greeted several times by the dental assistants behind the counter, Dr Qare's wife, and Dr Qare himself. Everyone seemed very friendly which put me at ease. The procedure was fast and painless. I would recommend this dentist to others. He answered all of my questions and even called me at home to see how I was doing.
Crepe Express
This is really not my favorite crepe place in the city. I tried Crepe Express when they first opened not too long ago, and everything was great. Service was good, the crepes were fresh, and the peices were reasonable. When I visited teh other day, I was disappointed. All of the prices were significantly marked up and the portions seemed to be smaller. The taste was not there either. For quick crepes, I guess this place is okay to fill a craving, but I recommend going somewhere else for fresh crepes that are worth the price.
Crepes On Cole
Crepes on Cole not only offer yummy food and dessert crepes, but have other selections like pancakes, omlettes, salds, sandwiches, and soups. Everything is always fresh, and meals are pretty good portions. The prices are inexpensive, so its great. This is a nice little family owned cafe. People are warm and friendly and the service is fast. Everything is neat and tidy. You can always find a clean table to sit and relax.
