We enjoy driving a couple of hours to see a professional baseball game. We have always enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves play. We have found the facility satisfactory every time. When someone hits a home run, sometimes they shoot fireworks out of the Coke bottles. Tickets prices range from quite expensive to $1 standing tickets sold the day of the game. The food is quite expensive so it can really add up. The parking is ok. If its a blow out, we will leave an inning early to beat the crowds.
PROS: great baseball
CONS: can be expensive
I loved spending time going through this museum .We spent well over half a day and didn't come close to hitting all the exhibits. The real life models of the different aircraft were fascinating. Reading the stories behind WWII and the first flight around the world helped make it real. Plus it was neat to see how far satellite have come. This place has something for everyone. Best of all, its free! You can't beat that. If you only have time for one Smithsonian Museum, this is the one to visit.
PROS: fun airplanes inside
CONS: too many things to see in one day
I went to the South Carolina State Museum twice last year- once taking my kids on a field trip and again with my husband and friends. I found it fascinating every time I went. There's so much to see that its nearly impossible to spend adequate time on every level and make it through the entire thing. I love the science floor and all the cool experiments you can do. I also think the building/engineering floor with the huge legos and building blocks are great. Anything hands on is a winner with me. They have a lot of history also and are always changing exhibits so its could to go back every once in a while. The price is very reasonable. Take the family!
PROS: different, entertaining, educational
CONS: so big!
This is one of the shops I look forward to visiting while we visit the beach every summer. They have a huge selection of Christmas items with something in every price range. I always enjoy their wide variety of ornaments plus all the collections that they stock. Its in the Hammock Shops and worth a peek.
Every time we go to the beach, we take a visit to the Hammock Shops at Pawley's Island of which this is the best. Every hammock I have ever owned has come from the Hammock Shop and they are top quality. Plus its so fun to browse through the general store. Its full of all kinds of knick knacks and souvenirs. You never know what you will stumble upon. Their prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is just like a general store out of the 50s. I love it!
I have enjoyed the Carolina Opry every time I have gone. Its really top notch entertainment and well worth the pricey ticket fee. I think the music is well done and the choerography amazing. I am also dazzled at the stars. Overall, its a fantastic show- the Christmas show or one in the summer. Enjoy a night out at the Carolina Opry!
I have been to a Legends concert one time and I was very impressed. Many of the characters looked, sang and acted just like the famous singers they were impersonating. Of course a few didn't but its ok. Hopefully you understand going in that this is an impersonation show. Anyhow its a lot of fun and you get to see a wide variety of performances. I would recommend going.
We love going to the Pavilion. They have rides for every age. We find it most economical to go in the early evening and buy the bracelets that allow you to ride as many rides as you want. Then we just ride until they close. Its fun to be at the beach at night riding the rides. You can see the ocean from the top of some of the rides. The wooden roller coaster is a classic. The food is expensive but its worth a night out.
I love the Myrtle Beach Grand Prix! We have so much fun racing go karts and playing games there. It can get a bit expensive if you like to ride a lot. The traffic can get bad getting there so go early. They have many courses to choose from and lots of different karts too. Its a fun way to spend a night in Myrtle Beach!
I really enjoyed the Maze Mania because it was very different from out typical miniature golfing night out. The Maze was well kept and easy to find. The kids enjoyed it the most- I can see how teenagers might find it a bit boring or childish. It doesn't take too long to complete but thats ok because the wonderful Painters Ice Cream is right next door to complete the night.
