One of the things I wanted to do in Hawaii was go to a Luau, and I'm so glad we went to this one. The botanical gardens are amazing, and it was great to be able to walk around them (we opted to walk rather than take the tram for the tour). Dinner was SO good.
The show was great! I was tapping my foot along with the music. It made me want to learn to hula!
I've been to Tandulgence quite a few times for the Magic Tan spray-on tan. I always end up buying one of their packages (10 spray tans for $50, for example), although I never end up using all of them.
The staff is so-so friendly (mostly high-schoolers), but I'm usually in and out of there within 15 minutes.
I should have asked around for where other people went for PT, but I didn't and just chose someone randomly. I was in a car accident, trying to get back in shape to run an upcoming marathon, and my physical therapist just didn't understand that. It probably would have been fine for someone who had more time to recover, but I didn't. My old physical therapist was a marathoner too, and that's what I needed.
I received a gift certificate for a massage and a body scrub here, and I was the most relaxed I had been in a long time. The sugar scrub was so great and my skin was so soft afterwards. The Vichy Shower was a really nice touch (the first time I had ever done something like that). My masseuse was fantastic. I spent some additional money to get a facial and was really happy I did. It's the best one I've ever had.
I live a little far away now, but I hope to make it back to Sugarhouse soon!
I received a gift of a day at the spa here and had an amazing time. The Champagne and Roses facial was fantastic, and I had the most relaxing massage. I've had better manicures and pedicures, but it was still really, really nice (careful of the paraffin...it gets *really* hot!).
If you're staying at Lansdowne, definitely hit the spa for some pampering.
We used Gulliver's to move from our old house to our new one. They also did a day's worth of packing up a lot of the house (which I highly recommend having them do!). It took a half day to get everything out of the house and another half day to load the new one. We have a lot of stuff!
I had two problems with them:
1. A bunch of stuff was scratched. They either repaired or replaced what was broken, but there was one thing they just gave me money for.
2. They charged me full price for used boxes, which they shouldn't have. It took me a while to get a refund.
We used Virginia Settlement Group when we sold our old house and bought our new one. They really made the process easy to go through. They just told us where to sign, and we did. They got us our check pretty quickly, too. It only took a couple of days to have the money wired.
My family has been taking our pets here for several years. The staff has always been courteous and helpful. The vets really know what they're doing.
The sweetest thing is that, whenever we've had a pet pass away, they've sent a card, signed by all staff members. It really shows they care about the people, too.
If you're looking to be treated like a princess because you're the bride, you won't get it here. This place is more like a factory, getting brides in, letting them try on dresses, pressuring them into buying one, then getting them out.
They have some great dresses and great prices, but you'll be doing a lot of the searching, carrying, and zipping yourself. Bring a friend if you want some help and honest opinions. And if you feel ignored, that's completely normal!
I bought my wedding dress from here (also known as Macy's Bridal Salon) and it was such a nightmare. I worked with a great woman (Freya) who initally helped me find my dress, but everyone I worked with afterwards was terrible. It took me two months to track down my wedding dress after it was supposed to have arrived, and the manager kept telling me all different stories about where it was, when it was ordered, etc. When it finally arrived, I paid for it and took it home without being altered. I was honestly afraid to leave it there, since I might never have seen it again.
PROS: Freya helped me find my dream dress!
CONS: The rest of the staff = bad attitudes. Liars. They couldn't find my dress.
