GFS has a decent offering of bulk foods, but the prices aren't as great as you might think (compared to Sam's Club) and most of it isn't very useful for daily needs unles you're throwing a big party.
Slone's offers items not found at the large chain supermarkets, and a nice, family-style atmosphere with helpful employees. Being small, though, their prices are high, but if you don't mind that it's a fun market to explore, or for a quick trip for a few items you need.
Sagar has a great selection of Indian ingredients which I've never seen anywhere else in Lexington. If you cook Indian at all, I highly recommend you check them out. And while you're there, go next door to Tandoor for their fantastic lunch buffet.
Willis is a decent store, great sheet music selection and we used to buy resin for my son's violin there. The employees are friendly, but not highly knowledgeable in my experience, and as with many music stores, checkout is never a quick experience, which can be annoying when you're in a hurry.
Hurst has a friendly staff, good selection of instruments, and a nice sheet music selection. Their band instrument rental program is nice, and they're very helpful.
The ice rink is kind of old but well maintained and a fun place to go skating for the beginner or casual skater. It's a family-friendly atmosphere, and the miniature golf course outside is also fun and has three full courses. However, I find the religious themes a little annoying - if I want to read Bible verses, I can open my own Bible and do so... I'm there to have fun and play golf.
Pillar to Post inspected our current home, and I thought the inspector was pretty thorough (given it was a cold, rainy day in March) and honest about the home's condition. He spent some time writing up a detailed inspection report, which was a useful reference later.
The Children's Museum features some really neat science exhibits, with lots of hands-on activities and educational experiences. The entrance fee is very reasonable and parking is free if you get your ticket stamped.
South Broadway did an exceptional job repairing my car door after a collision, but took nearly two weeks to finish the work and their pricing was very high. Luckily, the other guy's insurance paid for it or I'd have gone elsewhere.
The Lexington Humane Society is one of the better ones of its kind I've seen. The employees obviously really care for the animals, and we've adopted two cats from them and make donations there often.
I only wish Animal Control was more responsive. We used to live in a neighborhood where two huge rottweilers routinely got out of their backyard and roamed. We'd call Animal Control, and they usually took hours to show up, long after the owner got the beasts back into the yard. When I complained about that, they said unless they caught the dogs out, they couldn't do anything until they attacked someone. Nice.
