Clarksville Pottery is a wonderful store. They are located in the complex on Lamar that has a great selection of stores like Central Market and Dr. Chocolate. They have a really beautiful collection of arts and crafts, home decor, and jewelry. They have beautiful and unique his and her wedding rings, as well as a good secection of other special gifts. They carry a nice selection of hand blown glass vases and other pieces. It is a very upscale store, and the staff tends to hover some...but they seem very friendly and helpful.
My wife and I took our girls here to go skating recently. The girls had fun, but my wife and I were not impressed with the place. The building is old, worn down, and feels really dirty. They have skates available for rental and they were okay was far as rental skates go...but I would recommend that you bring your own skates if you have them. They have a concession stand with some foods available to buy. They play music and try to make the place a fun place for kids. Like I said...the kids had fun and I guess that's what really counts.
When my wife and I find ourselves in Abilene visiting family, we always make it a point to go here. It is a fun place to get together with friends and have some fun. They have really great prices for lane and shoe rental. They allow smoking in the building, but not in the area where the lanes are. They play a decent selection of music, without it being too loud. They have a concession stand with limited food and drinks. There is also a bar that serves beer, wine, and spirits all for a good price. The only downfall is that the place is kind of dirty.
My wife and I live in Austin, which is a big city that has lot's of tattoo shops. When we were in Abilene visiting family, we decided to stop into this shop to check out their prices. We were impressed with the artist that works here. I ended up getting a tattoo and I am really pleased with how it turned out. Their prices were pretty decent compared to what we would have payed in Austin. They do a variety of piercings and their prices are pretty good for that as well.
This was a wonderful museum! We visited this museum on our family vacation and it was very impressive. The building is many stories high and it's just filled with art! Without a doubt it is the best musuem that I have been too. We had our young kids with us and they enjoyed it, but their attention spans did not last through the entire visit. They have all sorts of different exibits, so you can visit this museum throughout the year and see the works of different artist.
We visited this house on our family vacation. It really is a wonderful architectual design. My wife is really into Colonial arts and she was delighted by the variety of Colonial goods that was housed here. I myself, don't know much about arts but she got really excited about these pieces and the history behind them. We had our young children with us and it really was not that exciting for them. It is probably better to visit this place without young children so that you can relax and just enjoy looking. Older children might really appreciate the history lessons that can be learned from this experience though.
A fun place to check out the local tourism. This lovely octagon house has decorative arts of the Colonial and Federal periods. They have a varieities of stuff, including examples of American furniture, portraits, samplers and looking glasses; English and American silver; some English and Chinese ceramics; and Oriental rugs. Tons of history here! Beware, hours at the Octagon House is open to the public on the second Sunday and the second and fourth Thursdays of each month except January and is closed on holidays ( I made the mistake of coming on a Saturday!) Good people, who is very knowledable, and live in the house!!
CONS: Parking hard to find.
If you are looking for an interactive place to take your kids that will entertain as well as stimulate their young minds, then this is the place to go. My wife and I took our kids here when we were on vacation and they really had a blast. Our children really loved the chance to play dress up. They created some wonderful art, which they wanted to replicate when we got back home. They had fun getting wet and messy, which was a fun treat for them. They enjoyed playing in the grocery area and had a blast pretending that the play money was real money. The childrens museum located in the city where we live is no where near as fun as this one was for our little kids. Definatly worth the money!
I was in a car accident awhile back and my back was injured. I went to a couple of different chiropractors and just was not pleased with either the service, attitude, or facilities. A co-worker of mine referred me to this location. I was really impressed with Mr. Knight. He made me feel at home in his office and he does impressive work. They have always been very accomidating in fitting me in for appointments that work best for me. Healing hands!
I have used Dr. Perkins for some time now and I have always been pleased with his service. I was in a car accident and lost some teeth. I needed to get some implants and this dentist was recommened to me. I called and they were able to get me in the next day. I found him, and his staff to be very friendly. The facilities were extremely clean and up to date. The prices for the procedures I had done were very expensive, but they would have been expensive any where. I am pleased with my new teeth and my new smile.
Our family van recently broke down and was having multilple problems. I took the van to several shops for estimates of what it would cost to get the work done. I found a few places that were a little cheaper, but they just did not seem as knowledgeable as this shop. These guys really seemed honest, were very friendly, and their prices were pretty good. They had our van fixed in a suprisingly fast time, without any extra expenses being tacked on. I will be going back here the next time we need work done.
