My girlfriend and I went here to just have a casual dinner for her birthday. We didn't want to do anything over the top and we just wanted to sit down to a good dinner and have an atmosphere where we could chat. This was perfect for that. They were great in letting me try ALL their wines before I chose and the food was great. Service was awesome too, definitely recommended!
This is a great place to bring friends and family to around Berkeley! There is a great selection of food and its all really good. I especially love their salsa selection. I tried their strawberry salsa and their mango salsa and their avacado salsa...all of it is great! I'm going to bring people here when they come into town, its great!
I wouldn't agree with the previous poster that this place is world class, but its good food. Tuesday is definitely the place to go there to get a bowl of clam chowder! I love their pastrami and their Joe's Ham sandwich. You can get something good and get filled up for $5 there, and they're extremely friendly!
Growing up in LA and being around Berkeley for several years, I was looking for a Boba place that I could get cheap boba like I was used to in LA. There wasn't anywhere in Berkeley around campus I could go hangout and get a quick Boba. For $1-2 you can get one there, and it does the job!
I love all of their sandwiches. When I'm in a rush and need a piping hot philly cheese steak sandwich to charge me up before my next set of classes it does a good job. The fries are good, and prices are relatively normal for the area. I'd say for $6 you get a pretty good sandwich and fries...good stuff!
They have quite a variety of pizzas and they have great crusts. I used to eat their stuff a lot while I was in the dorms and it was great when we were up late studying at night for exams the next morning. Their prices are average for pizza, but I would recommend getting your hands on a Berkeley: Guide of the Good Life book with lots of coupons in it!
Like the other user has said, this place is about the same as the one in Mountain View. The decor inside is average, but the food is pretty good. I like the noodles and their selections are simple enough for a good dinner, and you definitely get a good enough bang for your buck. Give it a shot, you'll be happy.
Cha Am is located in the gourmet ghetto area of berkeley and is a decent place to go to dinner in berkeley. I've had their food about 3 times, good food, but it was pretty dry chicken in the curry the first time, but the 2nd time when I ate there is better. Service is satisfactory, location is great. Overall its a good place to go to if youre in the area, but not somewhere to go if youre coming out of your way.
