Years ago I had problems with heavy menstrual periods. When we moved to Houston in 2000 I was excited to see a highly recommended "dr. A" about the bleeding (and the resulting fatigue and anemia) because she came highly recommended. She put me on birth control pills and when I continued to bleed she told me to take TWO a day, so I did even though my insurance company only paid for one per day. And the bleeding continued, and I asked for a sonogram to rule out a growth. "dr. A" told me "I didn't feel a growth when I did your exam". That was ridiculous! So, I changed drs to another highly recommended "dr B" and had a hot balloon ablation at "dr Bs". recommendation. He told me that there were some very small fibroids and he hoped he got them with the ablation. Again, it did not stop the problem and I was highly anemic to the point of desperation.... when a friend recommended Dr. McDonald. I went to see her, she reviewed my history and gave me a FULL exam, ordered labwork, and sent me for a sonogram. This was less than a year after the balloon ablation and I had several large fibroids that were attached to the lining of my uterus. FINALLY an answer! Without the proper diagnosis I had been put through years of hell! At last, some answers to what was causing the cramping and bleeding! The treatment I chose was a partial hysterectomy, but she explained all the options for me and let me make an educated choice... she did the surgery and I have felt TERRIFIC since then, and it was the BEST decision I could have made for my condition. That was over 6 years ago and I see her every year for my check up. When my daughters had my grandchildren she was at the hospital and she was happy and excited for our family... she is a very personable PERSON who also happens to be my Doctor! What a blessing to have a wonderful woman who really cares about her patients.
As for the man who said in his review that his wife miscarried twice before they changed dr.s I can assure you that Dr. McDonald is as qualified as ANY dr. for providing prenatal care; she was my daughters doctor when she was pregnant and my daughter had complications which Dr. McDonald addressed and followed very carefully. I know first hand how painful miscarriages are, they are unavoidable. I am glad that you now have a breautiful baby, but please do not take it out on Dr. McDonald that your wife miscarried, every pregnancy is different and unfortunately the dr. cannot assure each pregnancy is carried fullterm. I trust ALL the partners at this practice, as Dr. Patel assisted in my surgery, and my daughters see Dr. Le. And the staff at the office is top rate, too, I have always been treated well there, but
I will continue to see McDonald with gratitude for improving my QUALITY of life !!!
For many years my four children, my husband and I have been Dr. Arnold's patients. He is very attentive and has certainly earned our respect. I suppose we have been patients (off and on due to transfers) for over ten years. We all wear glasses and/or contacts and we have never had a problem after having our visual examinations with Dr. Arnold. This was not the case in other cities, we would often have to get glasses refit; or have the contacts changed. The staff at Today's Vision are always helpful and detail orientated.
My family and I have been patients at Sugar Land Family Practice since 1994. Dr. Morrow was our first primary doctor; then Dr. Kirk Lee before he went into a concierge service. I NEVER thought we would find a great personal physician again and yet paying for a concierge service was wasteful when there are so many in the world that are needy....we would rather donate that money to the food bank. Dr. Herpin was slammed with so many patients when Dr.s Lee and Maza left this practice and yet she worked as hard as she could to meet the challenges. Then Dr. Ali joined the practice and we were consulting her for our health needs. But we felt the void of Dr. Lee as he had always made a special connection with us. I understand his decision, as so many practices are insurance driven now. The staff at Sugar Land Family Practice have always been great to us, and yet there was an energy missing in the office. As luck would have it, Dr. Gil Sustache has arrived at Sugar Land Family Practice. My husband and son were also pleased when they saw him "cold call", no referral, just needed to be seen for upper respiratory infections. His nurse is very friendly and always returns our calls promptly. Later my oldest daughter made an appt with him and she also commented about his sincerity and ability to answer all her questions about her condition. Since then we have all gotten to know him better and I am quite impressed with his attentiveness to details. Dr. Sustache (himself) even called our home to check up on our son after an office call.... this is above and beyond what we expected!
My husband discovered he had an umbilical hernia last fall, yet we postponed having the surgery due to his work schedule and the holidays. Upon consultation, examination, and very detailed explanation of this condition with Dr. Moore we scheduled the surgery, but then we had to reschedule (due to a death in our family). The office personnel were very understanding and quickly got us rescheduled for a time that was convenient for us. Dr. Moore performed the surgery recently and we are amazed at how well the operation and recovery has gone. We absolutely recommend Dr. Moore!
