Jessica at Moda Salon is the best. She does quality work and at very reasonable prices. The salon is conveniently located and you cannot find a better haircut for the price. Worth a visit!
We have had the pleasure of sitting in on several nature presentations from Kuriakos over the years. The people who come bring all kinds of animals to share with the audience and are very knowledgeable. They obviously love to educate and we have learned a great deal from them about creation and it's marvels.
Guitar Center. What can you say? The Walmart of the music instrument world. It's big, it has an extensive selection, even has a few vintage guitars. If you've seen this Guitar Center you've seen just about every other one on the planet. Good place to try stuff out but don't count on having a one-of-a-kind shopping experience.
This store, on the campus of the University of Oklahoma, is a tradition. Always having excellent quality, you can find tasteful, well made clothing that will last in both style and wear. They are expensive, but have great sales during the year.
We have been going to this swimming complex for years. They have, hands down, given the best lessons to our kids. They have a pool available year round indoors and and outdoor pool during the summer. Prices are good, the staff great, and the programs outstanding. Part of the University of Oklahoma campus, it is available to the public.
Happy Days is a fantatstic place for finding old vinyl (particularly for rock music) though they now have new and used CD collection. You can also find plenty of posters and concert photos. A DJ friend has used this store extensively for finding the hard to find classics, one-hit wonders, etc.
Charlie's reminds me of the good old days of used record shops. You could spend an entire day checking out music you've heard of but not heard. Ambience makes you feel like you're going back a few decades when you walk through the door. Great place to spend a few hours educating yourself on music.
We enjoyed our time at this pool, but you can tell it's really showing it's age. There is something for everyone from the toddler set to adults. There are lanes for swimming, water slides (though only one was working last summer), a wading pool, and a high dive area. It does have a large number of life guards that seem to be alert and do a good job of keeping the crowd safe.
The fencing instruction here is top notch. My daughter took classes for several months and learned not just the skills, but also the balance and grace needed to be in this field. Excellent on so many levels we enjoyed our time here.
Granny's used to be a good place for some higher end gear, but not so much now. Still, you can occasionally find an interesting used piece of gear. Don't bother if you don't like cigarette smoke, though.
