Dr. Lillard's office is conveniently located in the Court House plaza, next to the Metro. The office staff are very nice and the equipment very up-to-date...even little televisions in front of every chair. The quality of service is great.
I love all of the Red Door Salons...this salon and spa is smaller than most of the others I believe, but same great service. If you're looking for group services, go to Tysons. I enjoy the facials, body wraps, and waxing services.
I used Select Event for linen rentals for a wedding and was quite pleased. The selection is quite expansive and the prices reasonable. No complaints! Just wish I had another event requiring linen rentals to return to this fun store!
I've struggled to find a good stylist/salon and I think I've finally found it in Sook at Solarus. She's really fantastic and I always seem to get compliments after a visit with her. It's expensive...but worth it.
I feel like this boutique hotel is trying to be fancier than it really is. The rooms were nothing special, pretty small, no view. The rooms are nowhere near sound-proof. I heard every door in my wing open and close all night long making it a rough night sleep. They do offer a free happy hour and continental breakfast. Next time I'm in Chicago for business, I'll try the Renaissance across the street or the Westin in the Loop.
I took a 4-week ballroom series and a private lesson. The staff made it fun and enjoyable. In the group classes you constantly change partners so if you come with someone, expect not to dance with that person. The dance studio is often running specials, so check one of those out before signing up.
The bagels are great...on a weekend morning the line will stretch to the door. This is a favorite among the locals and in a big city, it's nice to come somewhere that you're likely to run into someone you know while waiting for that bagel or coffee.
We hired Lucy to bellydance for our wedding and everyone is still talking about how fun she was. The middle eastern guests were clearly impressed by her talent. Definitely recommend!
Even though Ragtime is a WVU bar, it offers good food and drink. We usually come for the half-priced burgers on Sunday nights...stay away from the tacos.
My family eats here about once a week, on average. The food is consistently good and spiced to your desire. Our friends are even requesting it now whenever they come visit the neighborhood. Convenient to the Court House metro, you can often smell it when you come up off the escalator...good advertising, hard to pass up!
