Dom's Broad St Eatery
Dom's is open for breakfast and lunch only. I have only eaten breakfast there. The food is food and the service is very good. Their omelets are excellent.
Bart's Drive-In Restaurant
Bart's is a great place for a quick hot dog. The food is okay and so is the service since it's cafeteria style. They do have special cruise nights which are kind of fun.
Kathy-John's Food & Ice Cream
Kathy Johns is a big diner like family restaurant on the road to the University of Connecticut. When something is happening there, you can't even get in the door at Kathy John's. The food is good, the service can be slow at times and the ice cream is really good. A great place to stop on you way to or from UCONN.
Windsor 75 DIner
The Windsor 75 Diner is a very good breakfast. Like all diners the food is hot, good and the coffee keeps coming. The service can be slow sometimes.
Rise & Shine Diner
The Rise & Shine is one of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten. The omelets are amazing. They make a special omelet every day but just any kind is good. The corned beef hash and eggs is also great.
Mavi
The Tuscan Twins is a mixture of Italian and Seafood. The food is good but it's kind of expensive for what you get. The service can be slow in the dining room but they are willing to cook up special meals for restricted diets so that might add to the wait.
Eddy's Bake Shop
Eddys Bake Shop is excellent. All the baked goods that I've had from there including doughnuts, cookies and cakes, have been excellent. The prices are about average for the area. The only downside is on street parking.
Oronoque Farms
Oronoque Farms is a big, bright fancy farm stand basically. They have the best pies in all flavors but my favorite is their apple. They don't just sell pies either. You can get jams, jellies and specialty foods there as well as gifts. The place is hopping near all the holidays.
Blue Colony Diner
The Blue Colony Diner is a little nicer than most diners. First, it's huge. It has a bakery at the front where you can buy a whole bread or pie or whatever you just ate that you like. Their menu is huge with a sampling of more than the typical diner type food. Everything was excellent. We had a big group and we still got excellent service.
New Colony Diner Bridgeport
The New Colony Diner in Bridgeport serves great breakfasts and lunches but the time it is really jumping is later at night after movies let out. Late night snacks are the best here.. this is the place to go. The food is good, always served hot and the service is very good.
