Famous Pizza is, I think, the closest pizza to the University of Bridgeport so it can get by on just okay pizza. The crust is a little thicker than I like it and the taste is just okay.
Vinnys Pizza is some of the best pizza in Connecticut. It has a great, thin crust that is always cooked perfectly crisp. It's just a small casual pizza place but the service is good and the pizza is great.
The Connecticut Post Mall has come a long way from the days of ALexanders when it was all outside. I hardly know the place anymore with all the new stores, Target, a huge movie theatre and a brand new food court. You can find pretty much any store here that you need. There is pleanty of parking and even so, the lots are usually packed. It's a popular mall.
The Boom Restaurant, that's boom like on a yacht, has a great view of the marina and some really beautiful boats. On top of that, the food is excellent and not badly priced. The service is really good and there is plenty of convenient parking.
I believe the Dobbin House may be the oldest tavern in the town of Gettysburg. It serves excellent food in a nice old setting. It did tend to be slightly more expensive than expected but it was worth it.
The Quality Inn at General Lee's headquarters in Gettysburg is a very nice place to stay. The pool is nice. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We've stayed there a number of times and would definately return if we planned another trip to the area.
The Quench Cafe is a nice place to go to. Basically it's light fare with drinks that we look for when we go there. It is nothing over the top on either food or service but just a pleasant place to go.
Old Sturbridge Village is very interesting. The costumned guides are always ready to explain the history behind the buildings. It can get dusty and very hot in the summer but there are plenty of places to sit and cool off.
We stayed at the Sturbridge Host for a Lions CLub convention with a lot of other Lions. This should have made it an even better stay but we found the staff to be less than helpful, the central area near the pool to be dark and uninviting and the rooms were not the best. I would not stay there again myself although it is perfectly adequate... nothing that ocurred there would lure me back.
The Westbrook Lobster restaurant is an exceptionally good value at lunch. Their lunch specials are really good and they are priced just right. The service is good and the surroundings are pleasant and casual.
