China Chef has some of the best chinese food in the area. It's real, it's simple, and it's tasty. In my quest to find the perfect spring roll, they come very close. The staff is friendly and this place is a well kept secret on busy Beverly Blvd!
Used to work near Trimana and went there quite often. They have great oatmeal in the mornings. Lunchtime was sometimes hit or miss, but overall it was good. They did make a mean california caesar salad though! And it was nice to have somewhere with such a large variety of options to eat.
I just discovered Papoos Hot Dog Show a few months ago. I am a big hot dog fan and this place has a lot of choices. You can get pretty much any combination of hot dog toppings, and you can upgrade your regular hot dog to a large all-beef hot dog for just a dollar. The sides are generously portioned and delicious, especially their french fries! I haven't had their shakes yet, but they look delicious. A bit of old 50's flair inside makes this place an enjoyable classic lunch spot.
I've taken a lot of clothes to the Overland Cleaners, and I have never been disappointed in their service. Everything is done quickly and efficiently and they always get out whatever stains might be in my shirts. Though the costs can be a little on the higher side, the weekly coupons I get in the mail keep the cost down. Definitely a place to check out fi you need some laundry done.
I've been going to Charles for a few years now for all my framing needs, whether they be personal or work related. He always does an amazing job. He has a great eye for what will make a piece of art pop and does it for amazingly low prices compared to other framing places I've been to. He's very personable and always gets things done when he says he will. I have referred many people to him and no one has ever been disappointed.
Frankie and Johnnie's New York Pizza is AMAZING. Their pizzas are huge and so incredibly affordable. The other night I went with two friends, we got one large pizza for $17 and it was more than enough to feed us. On Mondays and Tuesdays they have a buy one get one free deal, which is great! Their pizzas are unique in combinations, full of delicious flavor, and I really can't describe how good they are because you really need to experience them yourself.
Plus it's always fun to see what new celebrities have come in to sign the already-autographed-filled walls!
This tiny place in a tiny strip mall at the corner of Olympic and Barrington is a well kept secret. If you're into shabu shabu on the westside and don't want to deal with the waits on Sawtelle, try this place. The ingredients are just as good and swishing your food around in their delicious broth is just as fun. They have a good selection of sake as well. And it's less expensive than some of the more trendier places on Sawtelle !!
I was in Memphis for two months and stayed at this dumpy hotel. It is not worthy of the 'Wyndham' name. It was dirty, the food was bad, and I had to switch rooms four times. They were in the midst of a renovation to become a Crowne Plaza, but I don't think they have any plans to fix the elevators which rarely worked.
On the plus side, the staff was quite helpful, and definitely tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible. But with the random power outages, and the water not always working, this hotel needs to be shut down, gutted, and completely redone before it can be called a Wyndham or Crowne Plaza or whatever it will be.
Now granted, I have only been two one or two chiropractors ever, but Dr. Nishimoto is amazing. From the first time I met him he has been friendly and always very helpful. His work always puts me back into shape, and there's nothing as satisfying as hearing the "pop" when he puts your bones back where they should be!! His office is friendly, they're always willing to help me out when I need it and can usually squeeze me in with short notice. One day they even came in early just for me because I had to hop on a flight! My back is so grateful to them, and I've referred a bunch of my friends there. You should definitely give him a try if you're looking for a chiropractor!
I went to Nail Time for the first time the other evening and was pleasantly surprised. It was a short wait since I didn't have an appointment, but my manicurist was very pleasant to talk to and my nails look beautiful! All for just $12. Next time I'll go for a pedicure too!
