I've been going to Molina's Midway since the early 60's-and while the decor and atmosphere is pure 60's, the food is always so good.
Try it for an alternative to the other touristy Mexican spots and I hope you enjoy it. The burros are very large-tasty-and have a nice blend of spices.
I've been going to Pinnacle Peak since the early 90's; and you can't do better than steak cooked over a roaring mesquite fire. The decor is pure cowboy, not too cheap and probably cheesy to most, but it's fun for families. For about $ 20.00 you can get a 2 pound steak cowboy cut; a salad and a bowl of ranch beans with jalapenos. Nothing fancy-but they must be still doing something right after all these years as there's always 100 or so people waiting to get in at opening time. Just make sure you get your steak cooked a little more than usual-they tend to undercook the steaks.
A lot of people can say that a restaurant is the best-or has the best Pizza; but I've tasted a lotta pies over the years and Pirrone's ranks up there in the top 5 BEST Pizzas I've ever had anywhere. The salads will easily be enough for 2 people they are that large. The waitstaff is always helpful friendly and attentive. I've never been disappointed and I hope you won't be either
