Play 'N' Learn Preschool

My children went to Play N Learn from ages 18months through 6 years old. They were completely prepared for kindergarten and have both become very self confident, socialized kids.

The teachers and staff are wonderful. It is great to walk in and have every teacher say hello to your child by name. They always have a smile on their face and make you feel welcome.

They offer a great curriculum that is posted each week for each classroom so you know exactly what they are doing. They also offer many special events - visitors, parties, etc. They even offer Friday night Parents Nights Out for a reasonable fee. The kids love it and you get a night out! It's great around the holidays when you have a lot of prep to do.

The Junior K is a great preparation for kindergarten. Both of my boys went through the program and it was world class. They offer a take-home book program each week, and do work that is comparable to what my children have done in public kindergarten classes since then. They also offer a Kindergarten class that has a great reputation but my children haven't been in that class.

They are open early morning until 6pm so it is a great option for working parents. Located near Hwy 87 and Capitol Expy.

Victor D. Woodlief, DMD

My two boys (ages 5 and 9) have gone to Dr. Fisher for several years. He is great with the kids, he's patient, caring, and knowlegeable. He and his staff provide excellent service and know how to deal with parents and kids when more than just a cleaning is needed. He brings in a pediatric dental anestesiologist for cases that need it. They can recognize when a child needs extra help dealing with fillings, and work with the parent when that's necessary. I would definitely recommend him. His staff is very friendly - you can tell they all love children. A very well run office. Never had any billing issues with them.

Bombay Garden

This restaurant is wonderful. The food is great. I've been going here for years and it has recently become a buffet. The food is still great - the price is reasonable, and the service is good. It gets pretty crowded at lunchtime, so the earlier the better. They open at 11:30am for lunch on weekdays.

All Sport Karate School

My boys (ages 9 and 5) have been going to All Sport for years. They really enjoy the classes, and their skills have really improved. I think it really helps them with their self-discipline and self-confidence.

This is a family business, run by Gina and Jay Auen. They are the instructors for all of the classes.There are many different levels to choose from for all different ages. They even offer an adult fitness class at night. They also offer an after-school program where they pick kids up from local schools. They are conscientious and caring, and I always feel my children are safe with them.

Ramblc Pediatric Medical Group

My boys (ages 9 and 5) have been seeing Dr. Ahmann at Ramblc pediatric since they were born. He is a very thoughtful, attentive, conscientious doctor and had a great rapport with the kids and the parents. He never makes me feel rushed to leave - always has time for questions, and you can always get a same day appointment. His staff is great - and I think they still have Saturday appts available at the office near Good Samaritan Hospital. Dr. Ahmann's partner, Dr. Pitts-Davis has also seen my children and she is great as well.

I wholeheartedly recommend either of these doctors!

Striker's Den

My 5 yo son has played soccer here for about 6 months. He really enjoys it and has learned a lot. The staff is friendly and there are many different indoor fields to use.

It's not cheap, but it's worth it - especially if you have one child who plays hockey at Rollin' Ice and the other who wants to play soccer. Sibling discounts available even between the two facilities.

PROS: Great for the kids (and those watching) when it's cold outside you don't have to fight the elements. Friendly staff. Nice, clean facility.Kids have fun.

CONS: They aren't the most organized program yet. The Saturday programs don't seem to ever start on time, which can be frustrating.

Rollin' Ice

My son has been playing roller hockey here for almost a year. He loves it. There are 3 rinks for skating and their coaches and staff are great. Great exercise for the kids and it's really fun to watch.

They offer programs for preschoolers through adults and have something going on all the time.

I would say it's worth the money for the games and practices.
