Watershed Inc

I have been to the Watershed a couple of times, both around lunch time. The food is good, but it seems like you have to order everything separately. The portion size is good, but the prices are a little high for lunch. However, you are in the heart of downtown Decatur and everything is little more expensive.

The restaurant is a converted gas/ service station. The colors are bright white and teal and the feeling is retro. It would be a nice place to treat your mother to lunch.

Eurasia Bistro

I enjoyed Eurasia's food and atmosphere. The dining room is a little dark, so get a seat next to a window if possible. I like their lunch menu and specials, as it saves a little money. Good place for a nice dinner out/ special occasion.

Blue Moon Designs Inc

If you have time, stop by Blue Moon Designs in decatur. It is right down the street from the Decatur Marta Station. They have a bunch of unique gifts. As the store is inside a converted house, the layout is amazing. Start in the back and work your way out. They offer hand made items and mass produced works, so the prices vary. I always come out with something new to set in my home.

The Brick Store Pub

My husband especially likes going to Brick Store. The atmosphere is great, you can still hear yourself talk. The food is good, go with fish and chips. It is a good place to hang out and unwind after a long day at work.

Trackside Tavern

The name says it all. It is right by the railroad tracks, and if you don't know where you are going you are going to miss it. You have a slightly older crowd than at other bars in decatur. The food is decent, basic bar food. Plan on going out to dinner after grabbing a drink. As in any bar, pass on the wine. They do a good job with mixed drinks though, so you don't have to stick to beer.

Twain's Billiards & Tap

Twains is great to grab a drink after work or late night. However, don't go there for the food. The bar food isn't even that good. You can go to hang out and play pool, and stick to drinking beer. Don't bother with the wines/ mixed drinks. If you don't like beer, get a soft drink.

It can get a little loud on the weekends, but if you are able to grab a pool table in the back, go for it.

Our Way Cafe

I have eaten 3 times at Our Way Cafe, which serves great southern food. There is no lack of butter or grease, so don't go if you are on a diet. The desserts should not be passed up.

I also used their services for my wedding. I had an asian flair for my reception and the food was amazing!! They were able to stick to my budget, including the wedding cake. Jodi is amazing! He listened and we had several meetings/ tastings. He is able to create anything you want, not just southern food. He also dressed the tables specifically to my wedding-- went out and bought fabric to match my colors/similar to what my bridesmaids were wearing.

Trust me and use them!!

Daddy's Got a Budget

I used Daddy's Got A Budget for my wedding. I did not want to spend a lot of money on my flowers, but I wanted a nice job. I think the total came to $800 and they did not pressure me to add a lot to the proposed package. I appreciated that they also mentioned things like flowers for the grandmothers- something I would not have though of on my own.

The flowers were delivered on time and we were able to make all of the decisions in one sit down meeting. I only went to their showroom the one time. Everything else, include payments, was done over the phone.

I highly recommend using them!

Swan Coach House

I have used the Swan Coach House for private parties. Their rates are very reasonable and the people are FABULOUS to work with!

The food menus are reasonable per person rates and the decor is perfect for a baby shower, bridal shower, or red had society tea or luncheon. It is near the Atlanta History Center and is easy to get to.

I highly recommend the silk swan dessert and their chicken salad.
