Sante Ristorante

This restaurant is beautiful. I went with my family early on a Sunday night and it wasn't too crowded. The inside has a very intimate feeling with soft lighting and not too many tables.

The food was amazing and very authentic. We had the beef carpaccio and the calamari for appetizers. Both were delicious. For dinner I had a deliciously sweet and creamy lobster ravioli. And their chocolate cake and tiramisu were wonderful. Excellent service and very well priced.

Woodstock's Pizza Santa Cruz

Great, great pizza. Woodstocks makes some of the best pizza I've ever had. They take their pizza-making very seriously! A nice place to go with friends. The staff is always super friendly. My all-time favorites include the BBQ Bird and the Surf City pizza. Try Woodstocks! You won't be disappointed!

Lula's Chocolates

No matter how old you are, when you walk into Lula's you instantly become like a little kid in a candy store. In other words, you want to eat everything! They make some of the most fantastic chocolate I've ever had, and their caramel is to die for! My personal favorite? Dark chocolate toffee and espresso truffles! You have to stop by Lula's. Even if only for just one piece of chocolate!

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino

I stayed here before I turned 21 and still had an amazing time. The hotel is one of the newer ones and is beautiful on the inside. Our room had a great view of the strip and had a huge bathroom, which was really nice when we were all trying to get ready at once.

The wave pool and the lazy river easily consumes a large portion of the day because it is so much fun. Go a little early if you want to grab some good lounge chairs or a little shade. There's also a ton to do inside the hotel. Had a great time!

Il Fornaio

Il Fornaio is a beautiful restaurant in Burlingame. It has open air seating which is really nice on a warm day. There is also an excellent bakery within the restaurant where we sometimes buy pastries to take home and eat later. The pasta is great and the bread is always fresh out of the oven. A lovely place for lunch on the weekend.

Bobby Van's Grill & Steakhouse

My family and I were on vacation in New York City and knew we had to try out a steakhouse before going home. After some debate we decided on Bobby Van's, and we couldn't have made a better decision. The interior is decorated beautifully. There is a full bar on the right side and seating on the left. The service was impeccable and the food was perfectly cooked. Everything from the filet, to the porterhouse, even to the hamburger, tasted amazing. Their wine selection was great and the waiter's recommendation went perfectly with our meal. Worth every penny! We often refer back to our experience at Bobby Van's when we eat at other steak houses now. Truly a great restaurant!

Izzy's Steak and Chops

Izzy's serves wonderful steaks without the stuffy high-class steakhouse atmosphere. It's a lovely place with great waiters, a great bar, and great food. The upstairs is really neat because the entire wall is lined all the way around with sauce bottles. When it comes to ordering the sides for your meal you have to try the creamed spinach. It is amazing!

Barney's Gourmet Hamburger

Barney's is a great place to go in the city if you're craving an excellently made burger, thick cut fries, and a large shake. The restaurant is long and narrow on the inside so it can get pretty crowded on a busy night. Go early if you want to grab a seat, but the burgers are definitely worth it. Try it with bacon and avocado. That's my favorite!! But be careful, their burgers are pretty big and their fries and onion rings come in generous portions!

Manta Rey Restaurant

We were staying at the Orchid Inn across the street and the hotel was offering a 20% promotion of dinner to eat at the Manta Rey Restaurant. It was late and we didn't know what else was in the area so we decided to head over there. So glad we did! The restaurant is small and intimate with large glass windows. The food was delicious. I had a creamy salmon bisque and a gorgeous seafood pasta. Fresh baked bread and a glass of red wine made it a perfect meal. Very reasonably priced seafood even without the promotion!

Wildflour Baking Co Inc

Wildflour has maybe the greatest cookies I've ever had. It doesn't matter what kind. Try all of them because they are all amazing. Chocolate chip is still my favorite! And in the morning, their fresh-made cinnamon roles are heavenly! Everything is warm and delicious. For fun, see if you can answer their ridiculously hard trivia questions. It's almost impossible, but if you can do it you get free cookies!
