We enjoyed our lunch at Three River's Grill when we visited Hood River. The restaurant is clean and simply decorated, and we found the staff to be friendly. My husband ordered a grilled Reuben sandwich and he really liked the taste. I ordered a Cobb Salad and was very impressed with the flavor. The prices were very reasonable and we would definitely go back again.
We really enjoyed the sub sandwiches that we bought from the New York City Sub Shop in Hood River. We wanted to take something with us for a picnic when we were out biking and we found this place was great. They have a huge variety of choices for subs and the sandwiches were packed with meat. The bread for the sandwiches was freshly made and delicious. The prices were very reasonable and they give you plenty to fill up on.
Mountain View Cycle and Fitness is the place to go if you are thinking of buying a bike. They have all of the latest equipment for biking and the best selection of bikes. Hood River is such a beautiful place to explore on a bike. You just can't get to view the beauty of this place in a car or by foot, so biking is a great alternative. Biking together as a family is a fun way to experience the beauty of nature. This shop has a professional staff that will help you choose the right bike and accessories.
We stopped in to the Mesquitery Restaurant for a bite to eat when we were on vacation and really enjoyed our meal. The decor was very rustic and homey and the staff was friendly. The waiter recommended their burger cooked to order and my husband and I both chose to go with the recommendation. We were both happy that we did, because the burgers and fries were delicious. Our experience at this restaurant was very relaxed and enjoyable.
The Book Stop is a great little book store in the heart of Hood River. The store reminds me of an old fashioned store with the old wood plank floors. You'll find a good selection of books to choose from, and they will order a book for you if you don't see it. I found the staff was very friendly and helpful and they made me feel welcome. The prices were about the same as you would see anywhere, but they do offer some great sales.
We have stopped in to Oden Antiques every time we are vacationing up north to try to find something special. This old antique store is jammed with so much, that it makes it tough to get past the fact that you have to work hard to find anything. Once in awhile, we have gotten lucky with a purchase. It is still a fun place to shop if you have the time to look through things.
At Attic Treasures you will have fun looking around this small store that has an eclectic mix of things to choose from. They sell some furniture, with most of it being it good condition. This store has all sorts of collectibles for your home, and they have a nice selection of porcelain dolls. The staff is very helpful if you're looking for something special. I would recommend trying to barter if you feel the price is too high for what you want.
This little shop has all sorts of collectibles and antiques to purchase. There is so much packed into this little store that it can be difficult to sift through it all, but be patient. If you do find something that you like, the prices are pretty good. They didn't have allot of furniture when I stopped in, but it was still fun looking through the store.
The Mackinac Island Fudge and Creamery is the place to go for ice cream, candy, or fudge when we are on vacation in Burt Lake. They don't have a big selection of ice cream, but what they have is good. They have freshly made waffle cones that you have to try. The fudge that they sell is as good as any we've tried, and they usually have specials that bring the cost down. The staff is always friendly, and it is a fun place to bring the family for a treat.
If you are looking for something fun to do with the family, consider taking them tubing or on a canoe trip. At Tomahawk Canoe Livery you can rent canoes, kayaks, and tubes to take your family on an adventure. They will drive you to a drop off spot with your canoe or tubes, and off you go traveling down the Sturgeon River. It can get pretty expensive depending on how many family members you have, but it is so much fun! This place also sells souvenirs at pretty good prices.
