This is a place you could get lost in and not even know it you would be so busy looking around. They have everything for the home - antiques, rugs, furniture, bedding, fabric, you name it. It is a great place to go.

Bacci Restaraunt

This is a nice upscale Italian restaurant. The food is quite good and the service matches. There is often a long wait on weekend nights so be prepared.

Meadow Carting Co.

Meadow Carting has been servicing our village for a number of years. The bright orange trucks are noisy but so are all other garbage trucks. The men who man the truck are always courteous and they stick to their schedule pretty well so I always know, within about 10 minutes, when my garbage will be picked up.

North Shore Towers Cinema

The North Shore Towers complex consists of 3 super high rise condominium buildings right on the Nassau County - New York City (Queens) border.

It is very upscale with every amenity. There is all sorts of shopping in the complex so theoretically one never has to leave. There is even a movie theater.

There are express buses to Manhattan as well as a private bus to shopping in Great Neck.

Jiffy Manhasset Dry Cleaners

Located right across from the train station this is a very convenient place for cleaning and shirts. They also have a tailor who does good work. All in all this is a good place to take your clothes.

North Shore Clothes Cleanic Limited

This place has good prices for men's shirts and does decent dry cleaning. They also are a laundromat and will do your laundry. They have super big machines so comforters are no problem.

Maple Place Garage Inc

Maple Place has been around for a long time. As a matter of fact it once was even on Maple Pl. Anyway, they do good auto-repair. John, the proprietor is a nice guy and knows his stuff. I am always confident when I take my car to Maple Place for repairs.

Brian Rind, DVM

Dr. Rind is the owner of the Great Neck Animal Hospital. You can easily tell that he cares for the animals he treats. There are many vets in this practice and I think Dr. Rind chooses them wisely. His medicine is strong and his personality is calm. He gives a substantial discount to 501(c)3 rescues. He is a good man.

Toureiffel

Whenever I am in CA I meet 2 old friends (from elementary school) here for lunch. The salads are great and the staff is wonderful. Since we always have so much catching up to do (after all elementary school to us was over 50 years ago!) the staff lets us sit and gab and gab and gab.

Aside from the amazing staff, every time I have been there the food has been wonderful. I had a great salad once, a hamburger to die for another time, and seafood a third.

I think that I would go to Fins even if I wasn't with my old friends.

Veranda Fireside Lounge

This is a casual dining spot within the Rancho Bernardo Inn. It has wonderful breakfasts and lunches. I was not there for dinner so I can not comment.

It was great being able to be outdoors with my grandsons who were then 6 and not quite 2. The baby could run around the veranda and when the older one was finished he actually rode his scooter on the paths outside.

Aside from the relief coming from having the boys so happy, the food was just great. I had fruit and waffles for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Others really liked their omlettes. Lunch was a BLT but it was a wonderful bacon, super fresh tomato, great bread - well "just a BLT" became quite special.

I am very glad we were able to eat at the Veranda.
