Every year Swan Island Dahlias has a festival where they display and sell tons of varieties of dahlias. This is also the time to get planting, growing and tuber dividing advice. I always attend and always place an order for new tubers for the next year. They arrive in the mail in the early spring with full instructions on how to plant. And if there is ever a problem with them not sprouting, Swan Island will replace the tuber. I have not ever has a problem.
Al's has more than plants. The have several large gift areas inside and during the various holidays, they carry items related to that holiday. I just bought several indoor plants from them and they had someone walk around the store with me showing me various plants and helping me pick ones which are not poisonous to my dogs and are appropriate for the amount of light in my house.
Obedience competitors from all over the US contact Clouds & Company to have custom article bags made. The owner will work with you on colors and artwork so that your bag is unique to you. I love the bag I got here.
The Lawrence Gallery has a variety of items and I almost always pick up a piece of pottery (teapot, mug, etc). I especially love the garden art. And don't miss an opportunity to go upstairs for a bite to eat. Delicious and different.
The Village Gallery of Arts is an artists cooperative gallery. That means the artists also work for the gallery. The prices are very good and everything is original. And the artist that is working personally knows all the other artists and will be happy to talk to you about the pieces.
The Goddess Gallery is the place to go when you are needing to be surrounded by female energy. All the art is by or about women and many modern as well as ancient civilizations are represented. The women who work here are fabulous.
I enjoy stopping in My Tyme Beads to browse and get ideas but I also go there when I have a specific project in mind. Although the store is small, there's alot here. And if you don't see it, ask, because you might have missed it.
The Contemporary Crafts Gallery is not easy to find, but it is well worth the effort. They have an amazing selection of art in all kinds of media. The collection includes art to wear, adornment, table art, etc. Plan on spending a few hours and you will walk out with something.
I have had Beard Frame Shop in Tualatin do several framing jobs for me. They have a large selection of frames and mats. If the first frame they suggest is too expensive, don't hesitate to tell them that it's outside of your budget - they have a wide range of prices. And the framing job will be very nice, no matter what frame you select.
I bought my Mantis tiller from Ed's. They helped me pick out this tiller from the large number of choices they have. I have taken it back to them for cleaning and I have bought other garden hand tools from them. They have always been helpful.
