The Crowne Plaza has always been one of my favorite poperties to work with. They could use renovations in some of their meeting rooms, but the sleeping rooms underwent a recent renovation and are nice. The service, however, is amazing at this property. They will work with you on any issue you might face.
My sister was looking for a venue for her wedding, but was on a budget. Being a professional event planner, I accompanied her to various venues and was shocked at the way she was treated when she told places that she was on a budget. The Castle at Ashley Manor didn't even bat an eye. They worked with her on her budget, coming up with creative ways to save money, and treated her just as well as they would have treated a larger client. Her event looked like she spent much more than she did after they were finished. I was so impressed that I booked a company retirement party there. Very professional, elegant venue!
I loved the Gunn Hose - the place is owned by a couple who is there in the morning for breakfast (which is complimentary with your room). The side by the street is louder, but great fun if you like to peoplewatch. Otherwise, ask for a room on the garden side. The rooms are humble, but clean and quaint. No phones either! I'm looking forward to going back there.
I had heard about One Market from friends, and thought I would try it out. The food is good, with decent proportions, and the location is great. I would definitely go there again.
I also use these guys for lunch catering, and they have a pretty decent selection of healthy items. The food also keeps well, so for agendas where you're not sure of exact break times, it works well.
I just used these guys for a meeting, and my participants RAVED about the breakfast. Their stuff is a good size, and they are generous with portions.
It's not exactly in the middle of any kind of hub, but that's what I like about Jade Bar. It has a cool atmosphere, and on weekends the crowd is fun. They have a downstairs, so don't judge exclusively by what you see from the street.
I have never had children, but still get yearly check-ups. In the past, I felt like a second class citizen visiting an OB-GYN when I'm not pregnant. Dr. Heathcott changed that. She actually talks to me during my check-ups, and takes the time to address my concerns and questions. I would recommend her to anyone.
I love Oregano's and would go there more often, but the wait is so long there that it can be frustrating. However, it is usually worth it. Great food at reasonable prices.
And I'm loving it. Try the Old World salad with the house dressing. YUM. And their thin crust pizza is excellent. A great casual place to visit during the week.
