Mm... Falafel and Hummus. What a perfect combination. But wait... They don't have falafel!!!
I sat down with a friend here, ready to order the exact thing I had had 3 days earlier at their Upper West Side location: falafel, hummus, and salad. After spending a minute looking the menu, I couldn't find it and ask the waitress.
Me: Do you have falafel?
Me: But your other restaurant does...
Me: We need another minute to decide.
Me: (gets up and leaves)
I really needed something more than hummus and pita to get me through the day and I don't eat eggs, so that put a damper on the Shakshuka. I felt bad for our waitress and left $2 for eating the pickles, but had to leave.
The place gets 2 stars because if the hummus is anything like it is at their other locations, it's good. Too bad they don't have the falafel I wanted.
Fantastic sandwiches.. Love the bread, the crunch of the vegetables, wonderful meat fillings.. Chicken, pate, pork, whatever you choose, its going to be great.. Get a coconut water too!
the best place to get lunch in new york city is in astoria. no questions asked. this eatery is simpley to die for. the owner/cook ali makes amazing, authentic, delicious egyptian food. its a small place but well worth it
Initially, I was little wary of the suits and ties (given the location), but the servers greeted us with courtesy. The tables were little cramped -- I was able to listen in on conversations
loveee this restaurant. I had one of my best meais in new york here with my friends last summer. It's cozy and loud and perfect for a dinner with a group of friends. yummy french food
This place definitely lives up to the hype -- not only for the great, fresh tasting pizza, but also the charming atmosphere. Think candle light and Italian music playing in the background while you eat
This was my first experience with this place. Excellent quality fish--nearly every piece melted in my mouth. I like sushi, but NOW i can see why people love sushi so much. Tiny, so quarters are tight.
Absolutely stunning. I had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Boulud recently with a group of friends. The food was amazing. I enjoyed the vermont chicken it was very tasty and cooked to perfection.
The wine list is very extensive they have an excellent selection of reds. For dessert I gave the poached figs a try - they were delicious.
All around I give Cafe Boulud an A+ and i highly recommend giving checking it out when you are on the upper east side. This is certainly one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Make reservations in advance to secure good seating.
Good things come in small packages...in terms of square footage & portion size. It's an understatement, but don't stop yourself from making a reservation here. The food here is excellent
great hidden gem! I was expecting a dark, dreary place but low and behold it was like I was in Japan. We came to have drinks. The sake was so smooth and tasted even better with the homemade
