It's not easy to find a corset shop these days. Mary's had been in Plainview since I moved here 30 years ago. It is conveniently located near the Northern State Pkwy. If you need any type of custom fitting for bras or swimsuits this is the place to go. The tailor is right there in the store and will make the customizations to your bras while you wait, you try it on again before you leave and the fit is usually perfect. You do however pay the price for such a service.
Master Nail & Skin Care
There are so many nail salons it's almost ridiculous. What sets this place apart is the 'hot rock' pedicure. They don't charge any extra for it and when they massage your legs with the hot rocks it feels great.
Karen Loree Cosmetics
I've know Karen for years and I think she is wonderful. She has to split her time between her makeup counter where she sells products and does makeovers and her celebrity cliente such as Sarah Ferguson many others. She is very nice and beautiful as well. I would highly recommend her services

If you have a license you can get just about anything for hair and nail services. If you don't have a license you can still get good buys on salon brand hair and nail products and private label cosmetics. They also have a small hair salon in the back of the store.
Steven L. Mendelsohn, MD
This is a full service radiology office. I've had mammo's, sono's and MRI's here. The office is very busy but pretty efficient. They also have a new facility, I think it's in Massapequa, that has state of the art equipment. Dr Mendelsohn is one of the owners and is very skilled. The Plainveiw office is easy to find w/easy access.
Pearl's Kosher Bake Shop
Pearl's is a kosher bakery and they have not only baked goods but some prepared food as well. I don't really go there often because I have always found the people behind the counter to be rude. The parking lot is crazy also.

Gewirtz, Ilene, Md - A Woman's Way
Dr Gewirtz is not an obstetrician although I'm sure she still delivers a baby or two. This practice is more in touch with the more mature woman and their health and sexuality. Dr. Gewirtz is very intune with menopausal problems and believes in treating mind and body. Within the practice they also have therapists and nutrionists.
Scott A. Silverberg, MD
Dr. Scott Silverberg is just one of the orthopedists in this very busy practice. He did arthroscopic surgery on both of my knees. It is very difficult to get thru by phone and I was not happy with the front desk.
