I used Dr. Lebowitz to remove a small mole on my arm. The staff was friendly, the wait was minimal and the doctor was professional and explained everything. The scar from the removal was very minimal.
Sweet Hills Riding Center
I don't know if things have changed because its been a few years since I've been to Sweet Hills, but when I was there, I had to stop riding there because of the way the lesson horses were being treated. They stood in straight stalls, chained in in order to make for easier clean up. They had no room to move around and could just stare at the wall all day. It seemed like they were all over used and one day you would notice one was gone--once they were used up, they were shipped out to auction. It seemed to be about making money here, not about taking care of the horses.
Volvo Cars of Huntington
The staff at Hassel is very friendly and informed. I purchased my car from them about a year ago and have had it in for regular maintenance. The service department is outstanding. The wait time is what they tell you it will be and the procedure is effortless.
Hobby Horse Saddlery
This is a larger sized tack store where you can typically find what you are looking for. It is usually well staffed (with people and dogs!)and the staff is knowledgable and helpful. The prices seem to be consistent with other tack stores in the area.
Massa's Pizzeria
The pizza at Massa's has a nice unique taste to it. Its not your typical pizza, but it really does taste very good. If you are in the mood for good flavor, but maybe something not so ordinary, try Massas
John Harvard's Brew House
John Harvard's is a great place to go for some terrific beers and a good meal. I especially love the Pumpkin Ale which comes out every fall and is served in a glass rimmed with cinnamon sugar. It can get crowded on weekends, but its a nice crowd of all ages.
Pomodorino Ristorante Italiano
Pomodorino has become the standard meeting for my group of friends. Its conveniently located, the staff is friendly and the food is consistently good. The bread is delicious to start and all of the pastas, fish meals etc. are very good! The prices are reasonable and its a big, open comfortable setting.
A & S Pork Store
A&S is a lot more than just pork....they have a wide variety of meats, cheeses, specialty foods and pre-made foods. Anything I've ever gotten there has always been a big hit with guests!
Bottles & Cases
Bottles and Cases has the lowest prices I've seen on wine and liquor. While the liquor selection isn't great, its pretty decent, and for the price, its worth the trip to see if they have it. Great wine selection at awesome prices!
Long Island Fall Festival
I live in Huntington, yet I gave up on attending this annual festival. It gets so crowded that you can barely move inside the park boundaries--forget about it if you have a small child in a stroller! The last time I went, the vendors were mostly insurance agents and banks. I'd prefer more crafts and gifts.
