Uncle Bacala's Italian Seafood & More
I have been there twice, and have enjoyed the food both times. I remember eating their salmon once and the tilapia the next time. You can get the price fixe for dinner and it comes with a salad and desert. Beverage is extra. There is valet parking because parking on the street doesn't exist. The ambiance is lovely and the waiters were very good. I would definitely eat there again.
Queens Midway Animal Hospital
We used Dr. Kirk with our previous two dogs. It is not a fancy office, but we like the service that we get. The doctor is honest and he will not take you for your money, like some other hospitals. We used to board our dogs there also, when we went on vacation.
Major Homes Corp
We have used them on numerous occasions. They put in new windows and did our kitchen. They are licensed and everyone they use will be licensed. They will not disappear with your money. It is a family business and they have been around for years. When they say they are coming, they're there.
Preferred Floors of Whitestone
I was recommended by a friend and we purchased carpeting from them twice. Both times, I was very happy with the job. They showed up when they were supposed to come and the installers were very nice, as well as the people in the store. I would definitely recommend them.
Silvermine Tavern
I was recommended to their Sunday brunch by my friend. Boy, was she right. The brunch goes from 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. We got there at 12 and it was quite busy. Lots of families and large groups go there. There was lots of food at the buffet. They prepare pancakes in front of you and you can choose from strawberries, chocolate, nuts, etc. There are also eggs, bagels and lox, quiche muffins, jams and other brunch type food to choose. They also give you a complimentary glass of champagne. Coffee and tea are included in the price. Afterwards, you can take a stroll around the neighborhood. There are beautiful houses in the area. They even provide you with a map. The next time we go, we will definitely go when it is warmer. The spring would be a nice time.
East Bay Diner
The East Bay Diner is my favorite diner. You must be hungry when you go there, because the portions are gigantic. My husband and I have been there many times and when we order a complete dinner, we usually share. It's definitely enough for the two of us. When you come into the restaurant, there are usually cakes on the cashier counter to sample as you are waiting for your table. It's a distance from home, but it is well worth the trip. The prices are reasonable.
