Crazy Eight Painter
Tom Galloway (owner) does a great job for a very reasonable price. He was able to fit my painting job in very shortly after I requested that he come and give me an estimate. This is a totally reliable and professional service, and you will be delighted with the result!
Palmetto Leaf Enterprises Llc
Not too long ago I needed to purchase loose tobacco for special gifts, and I lucked into the Tobacco Merchant. They have an amazing selection here, and the salespeople were incredibly helpful. I described exactly who/what I was purchasing for, and they steered me towards products that not only met my needs, they were a big hit with the recipients! Hooray! The Bower Parkway location is in proximity to the Harbison Boulevard congestion, but not affected by it.
Baan Sawan Thai Restaurant
Baan Sawan is the first restaurant most Columbians think about when Thai food is mentioned. It's a little more upscale than the other Thai restaurants, so it's a great place to take a special someone, but the food's the reason to go. It is sublime, you can get it as hot as you want it, and they always take care of you just right.
Wish
I mostly visit Wish for funky jewelry and great deals, but they have all kinds of cool ladies clothing pieces of the boutique variety. There are actually three Wish locations--Main Street, Five Points, Harbison--so now I can get my trendy jewelry fix almost wherever I happen to be.
Indigo Jones
I'm a real fan of good tapas restaurants, and Indigo Jones is not just good, it's great! I'll admit that I probably won't be driving over to Camden every week to delight my taste buds there, but it's so close that it's not out of the question to go regularly. The wine selection is excellent, by the way.
Motor Supply Co Bistro
One of the neat things about this place is that the frequent menu changes ensure you will be delightfully surprised by what is currently being offered. I love, love, love their salads and the fact that they always have plenty for me to chose from in the veggie/seafood line.
Old San Juan Restaurant
Old San Juan specializes in Puerto Rican cuisine. I've only done the sandwich thing here so far, but their Avocado, Lettuce and Tomato with Cilantro Mayo is yummy! I can't wait to try their stuffed plantains.
Negril Caribbean Rstrnt Bar
For Caribbean food, you can't get any better than Negril's. The all-you-can-eat price is a crowdpleaser too. They have very nice curry dishes and the variety of offerings will keep everybody happy.
Paulie's Pizzeria
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I do love good pizza. One of my most recent pizza tasting excursions was close to home for me--Forest Drive--and was surprisingly good. I will definitely be visiting here again. They have pizza by the slice for $2.25 (toppings, $.50 extra each). My slice with spinach and mushrooms was overloaded with fresh toppings and hot from the oven in a jiffy!
Saffron
Saffron has an attractive look and an even nicer menu which, so far, has proven to be filled with delicious possibilities. The vegetable dishes in particular have been quite good. The big issue is inconsistent service, but hopefully that will improve over time.
