I don't know where to begin...the gourmet food prepared in front of you and available for a delicious meal to serve your guests, the great wine selection (with daily tastings by the glass--it's where I discovered my most favorite wine, ever!), the locally crafted funky ceramic and stoneware pieces. I just wish it was bigger!!!
Hampton Street Vineyard offers an unsurpassed, award-winning wine selection and an exquisite menu. If you are looking for an evening that has special written all over it, this would be an ideal place to start. Fine dining at its best, with superb service and presentation.
The live music makes Mac's high on my top ten list. Oh, the she crab soup is substantial and delicious (and my soul food eatin' buds rave over the ribs), but the jazz that surrounds you makes the experience a true pleasure. And don't get me talking about their great desserts, now....
Saluda's is a great choice when you want to go upscale for dinner or you just want a fabulous Sunday brunch. It has an elegant and refined, but not stuffy, atmosphere. You are sure to impress out-of-town visitors with the setting, selections, and service. Some of my friends say that it has gone down a bit from its glory days, but I think you will still find it impressive.
The Nick always has neat, off-kilter, most-talked-about independent flicks. I especially love that they host a Native American film festival every year. The seats aren't the comfiest, but it's inexpensive and the offerings can't be beat.
Southern cooking with a twist...sure wish they took reservations! The pecan-crusted crab cakes are really yummy! Mr. Friendly's has a great wine list and fantastic service. This is a nice place to enjoy with friends or a date.
Blue Marlin offers a nice atmosphere and well prepared seafood dishes in the Vista. (They have steaks, too, but that's not what I go for.) While it's true that it's not high end, I really can't complain about this quite pleasant little restaurant. I like that I can check their specials ahead of time on line before I go.
OK, I haven't used their catering services yet, but the food is SO delicious! The Grilled Feta and Mediterranean Tuna are divine, along with the Quesadillas. I love the color scheme and the fresh feel of this little eatery, too.
The professionals at Forest Lake Travel go the extra mile (so to speak!). Most of the time, I set up my own travel arrangements, but when I have a complicated itinerary, they are the folks I call. They really know their stuff and their customer service is the best.
The food is flavorful and they give attentive service to small parties. The fare is pretty much what you'd expect, and the portions are generous. I always leave with a doggy bag!
