Stanton Social (The)
Fabulous. At first didn't think that the small tapas-like portions weren't going to satisfy, but I was wrong. All together my wife and I ordered 4 different dishes and they were great. The flavors for each were incredibly. Suprisingly the quesadillas on the menu that evening were extremely tasty. The dessert cookie plate was extremely good. The only thing that didn't live up to expectations was the drink. We both ordered the Blood Orange Jalapeo Margarita, but not as citrusy as we were expecting. All in all weel worth the trip.
Caffe Italia
We went last month for a 75th birthday celebration and the food was great. We has a party of 18 people (8 of which were teens and children) and everyone loved the food. The smaller kids had the pizza which was excellent. The "individual" pies could actually feed 2 children. Wish the waiter would have told us that when we asked. We ordered one too many. The other fare was very good and nicely presented. The outside appearance doesn't really say much, but the inside is quite nice. Prices are a little on the high side for dinner but they seem to have reasonable prices for lunch.
Betancourt & Assoc Realty
Absolutely professional and a neighborhood guy. When Tim was associated with another realty over 12 years ago he helped our family sell a property in the Slope quickly and efficiently with no double talk. After having had the property in the market with several realtors along the avenue he was the only one that got it sold in a decent amount of time. Now seeing his own office florish we can tell you why. It is his professionalism and knowledge of the area.
Eby's Pequea Farm B & B
My family has stayed here on two occasions and we have loved both times. Centrally located in Lancaster it is right in the middle of everything. There is also a covered bridge right outside the entrance of the farm so the kids would here the amish buggies go acroos and love every minute of it. Family owned with a new house and a 200 year old farm house on the property it is very impressive. We stayed at the new house which was great. Each room with it's own bathroom and very nicely done. Nice breakfasts in the mornings with good conversation. Brought the picky grandparents the second time and they were even impressed. They want to plan another visit.
Mixto
Recently had a celebration here and was very happy with everything. Service was superb and food was excellent. Even the picky people of the party were pleased with everything. The ropa vieja was excellent as were all the drinks. Will go back when visiting Philly again. Prices were reasonable.
Grand Prospect Hall
This historical landmark is a Brooklyn institution owned by the same family for several years now. As a born and bred resident of the area I have attended several events here as well as had my own wedding reception in one of the several rooms at the hall. Is very large with some tacky elements to it, but overall a nice atmosphere. The food and service is overall very good. Staff is very helpful when planning an event.
Brooklyn Dance Project Llc
My 8 year old daughter has been going to this school for a year now and loves it. She is taking ballet and it is a great enviroment for her to learn. The classes are made up of children of all shapes and sizes and the teacher are very nurturing. There are at least 2 boys that I know of that attend the ballet classes. They have several other types of classes to choose from as well as adult classes. Prices are reasonable and discounts for multiple children/ adults attending.
Sergiou Harry Md
All three of my children (8,6 & 4) have been treated by Dr. Sergiou for the past 8 years. An incredibly patient doctor with nervous new parents and very good with the kids. Will answer any questions by phone at his office and returns calls promptly from both office and emergency numbers.
Los Paisanos Meat Market
This place is a Brooklyn institution. Think back to your neighborhood butcher from the past and then something 10 times better. This place is a warehouse in a small space. All different types and cuts of meat from ostrich to aged beef. Incredibly popular with the locals and extremely crowded around holiday time. Service is superb.
Gaelic Park
I was part of a wedding party in April and attended the reception here. The place is massive and very nice. Food was very good. Considering the amount of guests attending this wedding (I would say at least 300) everything was run very smoothly and no one was left to wait too long for service. Staff was excellent. One odd thing I found was that all food service was done before any dancing took place. Coming from NYC I found that strange since food service and dancing are mixed thoughout an evening at wedding receptions here.
