Redmond Lockers & Custom Meats
This is an excellent place to have butchered meat processed, cut and wrapped. It is very clean. The staff is very knowledgeable and willing to help the novice.While visiting I bought pepperoni beef sticks which were excellent and have had an opportunity to eat their smoked hams which are fabulous.I would highly recommend Redmond Lockers.
D & D Bar & Grill
This place serves up "old fashioned" hospitality. The wait staff have a great sense of humor and treat you as if they've known you all their lives. The food is tasty and the servings are well proportioned for the price.
I found it interesting that they have patented their own bloody mary called the "Veggie Mary".
Bend Animal Hospital P.S.
This is a very nice clinic that is clean and well staffed. They have 24 hour emergency vet care. The clinic has easy access from the road and plenty of parking.The veterinary staff seems knowledgeable and very attentive to the animals in their care.Most of the office staff is pleasant, however there is one individual who is somewhat rude. It wasn't just a bad day, because it has happened on more than one occasion.
Latte Dah
This is a great little drive through espresso stand located in the suburbs of Bend. The staff is friendly and the drinks are served quickly and hot or cold with a special treat on the top of the lid. Some pastries are offered, but nothing special or outstanding.
The traffic approach coming from the east can be tricky during rush hour.
Kit Rodwell Flashkat Photos
Kit Rodwell is a dog show photographer who frequents Dog Shows in California.My experience with this photographer has been less than satisfactory. The picture quality is okay, however, in my experience the photos feature what's in the background more than the dog.I've found her prices to be inconsistent. Recently, she was the photographer at a California show and charged one rate for pictures taken on Friday and a much higher rate for photos taken on Sunday.

Darcie Olson is an absolutely amazing artist. She has captured the essence and character of my Cairn Terriers in her amazing art work. I'm am very proud to own several of her prints and have used them as gifts to other people.Her prices are very reasonable. If you are looking to have your pet captured on canvas, jewelry, wallet, purse or stationary, she's the person to contact.
Jerry Vavra Photography
I've only met Jerry and Marty Vavra at dog shows, so I don't know if they have a photo studio. I've used their service and have had the opportunity to see some of their work done outside with horses and their own dogs. The work is FABULOUS! The skill that Marty has in getting a basket of puppies to cooperate for a picture and Jerry's ability to get the shot is amazing.They've taken pictures for me on several occasions and captured the true nature of my precocious little Cairns, who are sometimes less than cooperative. I highly recommend their services.
ResortQuest Kona By The Sea
A beautiful and very romantic hotel where I felt as though I might be the only guest. The staff is very attentive.
A very quiet resort with spacious and beautiful rooms.
I arrived in a storm and all the power was out on the Island. The staff was kind enough to bring flashlights and candles to all rooms.
It's a fair walk to the downtown area and be careful of the traffic. There are no sidewalks.
Island Lava Java
Their mocha's are good, but be sure to ask for extra hot. I think they steam once and then forget to re-steam, so coffee drinks can be on the cool side. The view is fabulous, however the island birds can be pesty.They have great muffins and I've heard the cinnamon rolls are wonderful, but they're out by the time I get there.
Drysdale's Two Restaurant
The food is good, but I found the place could be noisy. Chicken, burgers, fish and ribs are on the menu. Prices are quite reasonable and the portions are plentiful. I took home leftovers.
I believe this restaurant is open later than most others in the area.
