I'm an athlete and regularly find myself with sore muscles, an aching back or a tender joint, The massage therapists at Alvino Massage are really good about knowing where my body hurts without me having to tell them. I've started getting monthly massages and have noticed a significant improvement in the way I feel every day.
If you're looking for a sample of the live music scene in Denver, Herman's Hideaway is the place to go. It isn't a place to hang out and chat - the music is loud and the ambience is so-so. Here, it's all about the music and Herman's is simply one of the top venues in town to see local talent.
I've seen several concerts at the Soiled Dove. It's a personal venue - a great place to see and interact with local bands and visiting artists. Good sound system. Arrive early for best seating. Combine it with dinner or drinks at The Tavern upstairs.
I have visited the Tavern Lowry regularly for dinner or drinks before going to a show at the Soiled Dove downstairs. The menu is creative and the drinks are good. The atmosphere is hip and there's great people watching. It's a bit pricy, but worth it for a special night on the town.
Croc's has a decent menu and good margaritas and has a great location right downtown. I find myself there regularly as part of an evening on the town, but it is rarely the highlight of the night.
Sonoda's has amazing sushi and a reasonably priced lunchtime menu. Try the salad - it comes with a tangy ginger dressing. Fills up fast, so be sure to get there early. A small patio, but the majority of seating is inside downstairs.
A great neighborhood bar close to home. There are usually quite a few people there, no matter what day of the week it is. Has a nice-sized back room so it doesn't feel too packed. Friendly staff.
My first two visit to McCormick's were disappointing as a vegetarian - there was very little to choose from but the roasted garlic and brie was absolutely heavenly. My third visit I asked if there was a separate menu for vegetarians and voila! there was. Be sure to ask for it if you are looking for vegetarian meal options.
A hip spot to meet with friends for sushi appetizers or dinner before a night out on the town. Be sure to get there early or make reservations on busy nights. Dress to impress. You can get better sushi for cheaper prices elsewhere, but go to Hapa if you want to be part of the scene.
I used to have lunch at least once a week at Sonoda's. Be sure to check what sushi's on special. The house salad has a fabulous ginger dressing - a perfect compliment to a tasty avocado roll.
