Blue Ribbon Exteriors
We had this company tear out our old deck and put a new one on last summer (2008). The owner of the company came to our property, took measurements and came up with a great design for our new deck. He brought a portfolio of other work he had done and lots of wood samples. The owner is extremely knowedgable and takes great pride in his company. We found this in his workers as well - they really take pride in their work. He offers very high end products and more budget based options as well. The owner was out every day to check on the work and make sure everything was being done according to plan. I would highly recommend this company.
Totem Shoe Repair
I've taken my husbands boots in twice to have them re-soled at this shop. It appears to be a small family owned business - filled with shoes and other little quirky items. It's a small, somewhat claustrophobic shop - with shoes all over the place. I wouldn't say service was overly friendly, but the work on the boots was top notch, affordable (not cheap - but affordable) and done in a timely manner. Most shoe shops I've dealt with over the years seem to be of a similar nature, so don't let the clutter and dirt deter you - they do a good job on shoes.
House Of Sewing
We took our vacuum cleaner in for repair to this shop. They were able to fix it in less than 24 hours and the bill was very affordable. Staff was friendly and helpful and even though there were several other people there before us, they got to us very quickly. They appeared to have a good selection of vacuums and sewing machines for sale as well as providing service and repair work.
Butcher Boys
We discovered Butcher Boys from a friend who was serving their brats to us one day for a BBQ at their house. They have all sorts of brats and sausage as well as any type of meat you can imagine. We also love their "kid hot dogs" as we call them. They have some great marinated steaks, teriyaki pork chops and other favorites as well as all the basics. Their prices are very fair and the quality of their meats is excellent. Whatever cut or type of meat you're looking for, you're sure to find it at Butcher Boys. Staff is very friendly and knowledgable. My only complaint is they are closed on Monday's.

I like this restaurant very much. They have a childrens menu which is always nice, a decent wine list of Italian wines at reasonable prices and a good selection of foods on their menu. Their "house" salad is very good - not just a bunch of iceburg lettuce and a token tomato, but lots of fancy greens and other goodies. They also have good pizza's. We've tried various other dishes, both pastas and meat dishes and all are excellent. Sometimes if they are busy the service can be a little slow, but that's my only complaint. The furnishings are nice but not extravagant. It's a nice family restaurant - and much more authentic than Olive Garden!
Old Town Battle Grounds
I love this coffee shop. They have good coffee at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is charming and the staff is always friendly and helpful. We also buy whole bean coffee there to grind at home. It can get pretty busy and although there is a fair amount of seating, it can fill up quickly by mid morning. I haven't tried their lunches, but I've seen them advertising that they offer soup/sandwiches for lunch now.
