This State Farm office has had the most helpful staff. We had a homeowners claim, and Pamela was incredibly efficient in getting contractors out to our home and expediting repairs. We really appreciated the level of service we received from this office.
After experiencing a dentist straight from a horror movie, I took my traumatized kids to Dr. Lee. He and his assistants were absolutely fantastic. He was kind, patient, and understanding with them. My boys were not afraid of going to the dentist with Dr. Lee. His office was clean and professional, and never a long wait in the waiting room. We really appreciate Dr. Lee.
Our family went to this dentist for about 6 months. At the time (2006), it was one dentist, Dr. Miyatake, and his wife, who was his receptionist and assistant. My son (7 at the time) needed a filling. He got in trouble when the shot hurt, for yelling. Sweet. I made the huge mistake of getting a filling done here as well. The Dr. was rude and impatient, with equipment that could have been left over from a WWII surplus store. He drilled straight into my tooth too far, and blamed it on "my out of control tongue". Riiight. Within 3 weeks, the filling completely fell out. I went to another dentist for an emergency fix, and they said that it had been drilled almost into the nerve, and that the edges still had plaque around them, so "no wonder the filling fell out". I ended up getting a root canal because of this Dentist. He is my dental horror story to get my kids to floss more. I am sad that I cannot leave less than one star. They did, however, refund me for the filling. Doesn't quite make up for having a root canal.
We have used Rich's services for several years. He shows up promptly, and made sure to take the time that our horses needed. He has gone the extra mile for horses that were lame, including special gels and pads. He made a positive difference in their quality of life. Plus, he is great with bratty Donkeys! We are all huge fans of Rich.
I absolutely LOVE Millwork outlet! They have thousands of doors, windows, trim pieces, moulding, and so much more, at great prices (haggle with them!). You can find things here that you cannot find anywhere else. Most are construction over-runs, extras, etc, so if you can build to suit what you find, instead of trying to find the perfect size, it makes life easier. I found a 4' casement bay window completely trimmed out in hardwood, and got them down to $295. One of the guys working there delivered it for a twenty, can't get better than that, it was big and awkward. Again, absolutely love Millwork Outlet. I could spend all day there, and still find new stuff to see.
TRM has good prices on lumber, many times lower than the big hardware chain stores. They also have a decent selection of fastners and nails for pneumatic nail guns that can be harder to find. Good price by the case. Convenient delivery as well (though not free).
I absolutely love this F.O.L. book store. It is organized, and the people are super friendly. Also nice is the fact that they don't high grade the books donated to the store, so you can actually come across some decent finds. Much like treasure hunting!
Although we sometimes go to the Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse in Huntsville, Kyoto is much closer for us, and their prices are slightly less. The ambiance isn't quite the same (it is in a strip mall), and it is a lot smaller, but personally I like the food much better. The rice has more of a spicy flavor, and they also give you this prawn appetizer with a yolk type sauce with your dinner. Very yummy. The portions are large, and it is a family favorite.
LT nails has great spa pedicure chairs, and a lot of them. Their prices are a little higher than what we are used to ($25 for a pedicure), but the service is great. I have taken one of my boys there for a pedicure, and he absolutely loved it too.
Chelden's is an interesting little small town boutique. They have unusual items and gift ideas, lots of Alabama and Auburn team items. They have pricier home decor, and some absolutely beautiful drapes, but they were very, very pricey. The people were very friendly and helpful as well.
