Mc Coy's Tavern
This place has been around forever. The locals that go here are dedicated. I like to stop here once in awhile on a happy hour visit. The staff can be hot or miss on service but it's an o.k. stop as it is on the strip of bars to visit.
Mio Sushi
This sushi place is one of the best in North Portland. They have a good selection of rolls and their appetizers are all delicious. I always go for the cucumber salad and of course a little sushi. The staff is friendly and helpful. Fills up fast in the summer. A few tables on the sidewalk.
Caldera Brewing Company
This brewery makes amazing beers. The ingredients are the best and the brews are creative. I love the dry hop orange and the imperial stout. The food is good and the scene is casual. They even sell a few of their beers in the can.
Space Room Lounge
This place is notorious for it's strong drinks. The scene is always full of eye candy and used to be so smokey. I am hoping it will be a lot easier to breathe now. The service is alright, the food not so much.
Bridgeport True Value Hardware
I have spent a lot of time here. They are always friendly and you are most likely related to someone in the store. They sell fishing licenses and can give you advice on the local gossip.
Chief Joseph Tavern
My grandparents owned this tavern when I was just a kid. It has since passed hands several times. Once known for it's chicken and Jo-Jo's, I'm not sure it has much in the way of food. I think it is mostly a rougher crowd now, at least on the weekends.
Nell's Drive-In
I have been going to this drive-in since I was a little girl. Before that my parents went here. They serve the best chicken strips and fries. I always go in for a strawberry milkshake as well. You can enjoy your food in the side yard or take it to-go.
Larry's Rockaway Market
I have always gone to this store while at the beach. Although it is the only one they have a decent selection of items. There is a small deli counter that sells clam chowder which isn't too bad and sometimes smoked salmon. Seems to be a meeting place for many.
Rick's Roadhouse
My friend and I ate clam strips here and drank a few beers. The food was good although the portions were small for the price. The owner is loud and tries to be funny. Locals crowded in to watch a game and some people sang in the back room.
Jetty Fishery Marina & RV Park
I've had an amazing time at this place. We rented boats and crab pots for an afternoon and brought our catch back and had it cooked for us on the spot. We camped a night here and found it to be peaceful and entertaining.
