Los Compadres
This place has been around for about 20 plus years. My co-worker eat there about once a week. I sometime join them or they bring me something back. The food is always fresh and the service is always great.
Don Lucio's Taco Shop
They are a wonderful taco shop that serves authentic Mexican food. They are located right next to the pedestrian entry to the Otay Mesa Port of Entry. Where you are waiting for some to cross or are back from Mexico looking for a quick bite stop in, they are very friendly.
Los Taquitos Mexican Grill
They are a small yet very good authentic fast food Mexican take-out or you can eat inside. The food is good, always warm and fresh. They will give you extra salsa and cheese at no extra charge.
Carnitas Uruapan Mexican
If you are looking for delicious authentic Mexican food, this is the spot, the salsa are just perfect, the tacos is like you are eating in Mexico and the carnitas ..mmmm delicious. The food and service is just like the TJ location just without the gun fire.
Su Casa
This place was/is very different. The food was Tex/Mex and not very good at that. It was way down a dirt road on the way to Donavon Prison. Not sure if it is still open as we were the only customers that evening. The staff sat around including the cook all speaking in Spanish, they thought I didn't understand. I wont go back.
Los Primos Mexican Food
It is located inside the World gas station, it is hard to find. It is right next to the Subway sandwich counter and the gas counter. This is a one stop all Mexican food restaurant. Oh did I forget to mention you can get your car washed here also. The food is very typical of a chain location.
Asada Taco Shop
If you want to eat some home made Mexican food, this is the spot! They have been in the same location for about 20 years. There food or service hasn't changed in 20 year either. The cook will always make it just the way you want, so problem is you want something add or left off. The burritos are enough for lunch and then left overs later. My husbands says they are as big as his forearm!
Miguel's Cocina
If you want to eat some delicious and healthy Mexican food, this is the spot, the salads are just perfect, the tacos is like you are eating in Mexico and the steaks delicious. Great place with a bunch of friends, the margaritas you wont find any better in town.
El Castillito Taqueria
The service wasn't the best nor was the food. They leave the chips in a warmer and you help yourself. The food was kind of cold and not really seasoned correctly. The rice with my meal was salty, hard and dry.
Pasta's Trattoria
While I lived in Livermore I would eat at Trattoria about once a week. Now that I am back in San Diego, when I drive through eat there about 3 time a year. This is a great place and the food is aways fresh and good. The location is prime, I always ask for a window table just to people watch.
