Butch did not get permits to do our roof like he said in our contract he would. This resulted in stop work orders on our house (not until AFTER he received his last payment & immediately cashed it). When we tried to get the permits (that he should have gotten in the first place), we were notified that the paper he had given us for his liability insurance was now outdated since Butch had caused such long delays in our project from the time he had given it to us. We tried to call him to get this paper to no avail. Got ahold of the company he purchased the liability insurance through, & the owner told me (& sent me proof) that Butch's liability insurance for the policy he had given me a paper for had actually been CANCELED over 4 months ago due to lack of payment (meaning he had been notified of cancellation over a MONTH before he gave me the paper with his insurance information, so he knew he was handing out false liability insurance info).
This is the very short version of a long, long story. The long version includes not ordering the trusses when he said he would, needing to order the trusses 3 different times before he finally ordered the right ones, he replaced an exterior wall improperly (placed regular pine against cement which is a no-no; needs to be pressure treated wood against concrete), he bent our brand new electric poll, & refused to get back to us the dozens of times we tried contacting him about these issues. There is also the issue of huge additional costs as a result of his negligence & delays, including additional permits, blueprints, & the basic costs of TIME that we are wasting unable to work on our house. We still don't have the permits because we can't get them without this information from Butch, & he ignores all of our phone calls, never returns calls, & on the rare occasion we're able to reach him (only when we call from a number he doesn't recognize), he hangs up on us. This has been an absolute nightmare, & it's not even over yet. Please save yourself a ridiculous amount of time & money & give your business elsewhere.
Someone that my husband worked with gave a representative from Rainbow (Penn Yan) our phone number. They called my husband to set up an appointment. They didn't say who they were, just that one of my husband's friends suggested they contact us to set up an appointment to help make our home cleaner for our family, & also said that they'd give us a free 2 night vacation just for setting up the appointment. My husband set up the appointment. We rearranged our schedule to be here for it, being very excited about finding out how to make our home & air quality cleaner for our children &, of course, the promised vacation. They called us on the phone an hour before our scheduled appointment to say "Oh, we just looked in our records & saw that you already own a Rainbow." We told them that we could have told them that if they had just told us who they were when they called- we were thinking they were something completely different b/c they kept emphasizing air quality, not vacuuming. Because we rearranged our entire evening around the appointment that they decided to cancel, they promised us the 2 night hotel stay. . . which they never sent. Disappointing & misleading.
Some days, the pizza from Shell's is excellent; other days (which seem to be more often than not), the crust is incredibly hard to chew. The flavors & toppings are good, but hard to enjoy when you feel like you're chewing on cardboard.
We ordered all of the replacement windows for our house from South Seneca Vinyl. They were the most affordable in the area, & we couldn't possibly be any happier with the quality.
Don't judge a book by its cover, indeed. Yes, the looks, space, & location of Momberger's is less than desirable, but the awesome food more than makes up for what they lack in looks.
We have always received excellent & individualized service at Di Duro's. I think they are a little pricey, but certainly worth it. We got our kids' first pairs of shoes here.
I'm so glad to see Mark's in between Waterloo & Seneca Falls. The delivery times are generally quick, & Mark's pizza is one of my family's favorites. Their pizza logs, buffalo chicken wing pizza, & fried dough are excellent.
We love the services we've gotten from Electronics Etc. They have excellent knowledge of the products/services they offer, & have really good deals on DISH network.
We love Area Records. It's has a fabulous small-town feel while offering a great selection with knowledgeable staff. A great addition to downtown Geneva.
Super Casuals has a decent variety. I feel most of their regular priced items are over priced, but you can get some really good deals on the clearance stuff, especially the sidewalk clearance items during the summer.
