Located in a creepy looking hotel, Rockbar is the best dive bar I've found. The decor hasn't been changed since the hotel opened, very retro. There is a huge dance floor and typically a decent dj spins some tunes. Drinks are pretty cheap as well. Not recommended to go solo, especially if you're female, as its not very well lit.
Small music venue and bar, usually has some decent indie music on the weekends. The crowd tends to be older, pretty laid back atmosphere. Great place if you're not looking to get too rowdy. Plentiful and free street parking nearby.
Great place to go if you're looking to save some cash, $2 you call it happy-hour specials. The scene is pretty random, usually late 20s. The fish & chips is good, although I'd pass on the curry (pretty bland). Plenty of parking nearby, beats having to fight for a meter downtown.
Great little pet store located in Olde Town Arvada. They carry tons of organic, healthy dog food. The owners recognize pets and their owners by name and are very knowledgeable on everything they carry. They also offer a frequent buyer program on their pet food. Would recommend this small shop over the big box stores (prices aren't much higher, either!)
Tango is a great place to have a girls' night out! Starting around 9pm they offer an hour or so of free salsa lessons. Although, if you don't pick it up right away, there are plenty of guys willing to teach. They used to have ladies night, but now charge a $5 cover. There is no air conditioning, so dress lightly, as you will definitely work up a sweat!
Super yummy mojitos...they use real sugar cane! Plus, they have killer happy hour deals, you can get a pitcher for under $20 (serves at least 4-5). Would recommend as a starting block for a night out in LoDo, as they do not have an extensive menu for dining options (although the mango salsa is delicious!)
Awful, awful, awful. I've tried this place out multiple times & have always had terrible service. We've waited over 30 minutes to get a drink, and usually the waitresses are flaky and mess it up. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Horrible food, horrible service. While it may be historic, they lost all the atmosphere in the greasy food and rude waitstaff. The only reason they play classical music is to keep people from hanging outside the building. The only positive this place has to offer is that it sells girl scout cookies, which is great because I wouldn't recommend eating anything they make themselves.
Ink is the rescue that coffee addicts need! Additionally, they offer tasty, enormous sandwiches. They use fresh mozzarella and delicious Italian bread...worth every penny! Plus, the Internet is free and there is plenty of seating to accommodate.
Hands down one of the BEST breakfasts in Denver! The food is absolutely amazing & super creative -- try the cinnamon roll pancake (a local fav, not on the menu, but avail by request). The only downside to this hipster spot is that the demand is so high, there is always a wait. Expect 20-30 minutes during the week and up to 2 hours on the weekends!
