Avenue Gift Shop actually had a couple of things I liked and would consider using for customer gifts. The only problem I had was finding someone with the authority to talk to me about pricing and availability. I stopped in several times, leaving my contact information, but with no return call. Every time I was there, the manager never was. It was very frustrating.
I considered using the Georgia Party Arena for an open house I was putting on, but decided against it. When I wasn't getting any feedback from the questions I posed, I had to go another route. Someone from Georia Party finally did contact me, but it was almost a week after my initial call. I guess they were too busy with other customers to contact me sooner.
I found Don Michanic Enterprises when I went to a giftware tradeshow on my search for something appropriate to use as corporate thank yous. I thought the giftware and novelty items they had just weren't what I was looking for. They had a good representation of their line and were helpful with what they could do. I'm not at the point when I want to have something custom made and I didn't care for their lines, so I passed.
Cookie Creations Of Atlanta have some of the most creative cookie shapes I've ever seen. I was looking for a Noah's Ark type of collection and without a bat of the eye, they told me no problem. The cookies were adorable and were exactly what I was looking for. I'll be happy to have them do my specialty cookies from now on.
When our community was trying to raise money, they sold Covenant Cookies, which are fortune cookies with bible verses. I bought several containers and passed them out to some of my clients who enjoyed them. I was so impressed, I contacted Covenant Cookies to see if they would be appropriate for the thank you gifts I was looking to get into. It was a great opportunity to learn more about them, their philosophy and how they conduct business. I was impressed.
The Cake Company made up an order of cupcakes for me for a family celebration that went over really well. The cupcakes were moist, great flavor (chocolate raspberry) and not too sweet. I had some sad people when they were gone!
A Piece Of Cake Bakery has to be one of the best bakeries I've ever been to. Their cakes are to die for and the flavor profiles they have are not only delicious in flavor, but creative too. The red velvet is moist and everything a red velvet should be, but their seasonal flavors like orange and berry are so good, it should be outlawed. No matter what I've ordered here, I've never been disappointed.
When I had relatives from out of town come in, I needed to find a place that they could stay that was close to me and be near downtown. I looked at several places and settled on the Tea Cakes B&B. I stayed there once and throught it was fantastic there, so I knew exactly the experience my relatives would have. The relatives loved it so much, they plan on returning next year at the same time and have already made their reservations. I even refer them to my clients when they have to vacate their properties during renovations.
I've always had good luck with the bakery rolls and fresh bread I've picked up from the Kroger Bakery. They make everything right there in the store so it's convenient for me when I have to pick up other things. The smell of the bread is enough to make me tear into it in the car on the drive home.
The Cakeman did a great cake when I needed something simple, but tasteful for a very particular customer. I agreed to take on the responsibility of the cake for the viewing party at her renovated home and was not disappointed with the results from this bakery. The cake was exactly right for the occasion and my clients was happy, making me in turn very happy as well.
