Cal Coast Bicycles was wonderful for us. They have something for little ones called the pedal pusher, that's perfect for toddlers just learning to ride. I found Cal Coast online and saw that they had this (it's a bike without pedals). They were great to talk with and provided me with the greatest gift for my godson.
A-B Sporting Goods is a throwback to the stores we grew up with that were family owned and operated. I found this store through some of the other parents at my kids' school and have been very happy with the quality, selections and customer service they provide.
I love the fact that the Pedal Pushing Bike Shop is so low key and the guys who work there are there because they love bikes. I wanted to get some good, sturdy, used road bikes for my husband and I, and they were just great about giving us all sorts of information on what they had, what they thought we needed. We've purchased parts for our beach cruisers there and have been happy with them.
My son wanted a telescope for Christmas, so I went online, found Scope City and decided to drive to the store to get additional information. The store itself has a great selection of telecopes, binoculars, microscopes, lots of stuff. What they're lacking is customer service. The man who was working in the store wasn't friendly at all and seemed a little annoyed that I was asking him for his advice for my son. When he pointed at the $1500 telescope, I asked him for alternates, to which he made a face at me and shrugged his shoulders. Unless you know exactly what you want, don't bother. And even if you do know what you want, think twice.
I went to the Bargain Center to get my husband a jacket. He likes anything to do with the military. This place is more used goods than new goods, which I think should have been conveyed more clearly. I overheard someone else asking the question, which made me wonder if what I was purchasing was new or used. You couldn't tell in the quality, but the prices were basically the same. If you're going to sell used goods, they should be clearly marked as such. I understand on wanting to get the most amount for a sale, but their sales practices seem a little on the shady side to me.
I went to Fitness Direct because I really want to convert our garage into a home gym. There's a huge difference in being able to work out at your own home, especially when you work crazy hours. I found the people at Fitness Direct to be very friendly and pleasant to get the information I was looking for.
We decided to get my in laws a rebounder to help them with their overall fitness. I found several rebounders, but liked the one designed by Funtek USA the best. Their rebounder has handles that fold up to help support the person, which makes sense when getting started. Their price is on the high side for rebounders, but the extra stability the handles has on this model makes it worth it. My in laws have been using it every day and haven't had any issues with it.
We've purchased several bodyboards from Gordon & Smith Surfboards for the family before. Their design construction on the bodyboards is done really well, so I have to imagine the quality of the full surfboards is done just as well. They also have a line of skateboards, but I've been holding off sharing that one with my kids.
Baja California Cycle Usa was very helpful when we had some flats that needed to be repaired after a family outing on our beachcruisers lead to an unfortunate instance with some broken glass. Baja CA Cyclery was able to get our shredded tires and tubes replaced in no time and at very affordable prices.
When my father in law's club was sponsoring a tournament, we somehow got involved on the planning committee. I was in charge of sourcing the awards for the tournament and found John's Custom Golf Awards. They have really good prices, but you have to call them to request a catalogue. It would have been easier if there was a digital download, but the wait time to receive it was minimal.
