I have read the reviews previously written, and couldn't help but comment. It seems clients are concerned about the cost of their pet care or tests/treatments that they felt wasn't necessary-
Dr. Choyce and his associates are fantastic vets...I haven't read anything negative about the quality of their care on this page...because you can't complain about that! They've taken care of my dog with great love - Dr. Choyce is very personable and always asks about my dog and seems to remember what went on the last time he saw him! Regarding treatment for our dog, this vet always asks first if we want to do this or that test...he doesn't do it without consulting us first! As a client, I have the right to deny it and we are NEVER forced to do so...they are options, but in the best interest of the pet. Logically the tests are going to provide results that would be otherwise hidden. I trust the vet's judgement. But if you don't want the tests, you don't have to consent to them!
Regarding expense, I think a lot is a matter of priority. We have paid quite a bit of money on our pet- not always being able to necessarily "afford" it, but considering it important enough to pay for. We consider our pet as part of the family, and worth paying for quality care - Some people pay to go out to eat, spend money on coloring their hair, or a piece of jewelry that wasn't necessary instead of spending money on their pet, which is a daily friend and companion. It's preventive treatment, so in the long run, we don't have to spend money on unnecessary medicine, or putting our dog to sleep because of an illness. That's the way I see it. All Pets always gives us the option to deny any tests or immunizations if we want...we are not obligated. The lady who said she had to come to get the lab results? I've never had to do that!
I guess we are little mercifcul when we go to a small local businessman. He needs to pay his employees, give them raises, paying for employee health insurance, rent and bills, equipment, supplies, etc. I know it can sometimes be expensive, but that's the cost of having a pet and taking good care of it! All Pets gives quality care and I love their 24 hour service...I can get help at any time if I need it...I don't know of any other vet that does that (maybe I haven't checked around).
Anyway, for what it's worth, I just wanted to share my experience with Dr. Choyce and All Pets...(the receptionist has always been kind to us). I've been extremely satisfied and have no intention looking elsewhere!
