Markim Pet Resort
We've left my husband's great dane, Marmaduke, at the Markim Pet Resort while we had to move out of our house wile there was demoing being done. This is a great facility - it's very clean, the people who run it are fastidious with the upkeep and don't accept just any dog that comes through their front doors. We couldn't find a place for Marmaduke because of his sheer size, but Markim's was able to house him for us with no problems.
San Diego Personal Training | Boot Camp
Boot Camp 619 isn't for the faint of heart. Believe me when I tell you that they will kick your proverbial butt. I don't know about liking it, but they'll do it. This was my brainchild, to which there were many moments I sat shaking my head. My husband was volunteered into doing this with me and there were times I thought he was going to shoot me. The long and the short of it is, it works. It's incredibly tough and there will be days that you just want to say, WTF and leave, but you won't. You'll like the results you see too much to quit.
Camp Model
My 16 year old daughter has been attending Model Camp since she was 13. I felt it was important for her to be confident about herself and learn to be poised in her life. It was hard for her to be away from me at first, but after her first year, she loves it. She loves the time they take learning how to walk the Catwalk, how to apply makeup and feel confident in public. This year they're going to be taking the girls and updating their portfolios and meet with various modeling agencies. If things work out and she books a job here and there, that's great - but that's not why she's there.
Coastal Trailer Villa
My younger brother and his brood came for a visit last summer. Since we were between houses, I found them a trailer park they could set up their RV at. They stayed at the Coastal Trailer Villa Park not too far away from us or the local sites. It actually worked out well for all of us. My brother and family were comfortable, the place had everything they needed and they also had some privacy.
Camp La Jolla
My mom and two sisters enrolled at Camp La Jolla for two weeks last summer prior to my wedding for a kickstart on their diet and fitness goals. They loved it! They had a lot of fun hiking through Torrey Pines, going for sunset walks along the beach - and taking field trips! This was a retreat for them, and was all adult women over 30. Each of them did lose some weight, but I think they had more fun being together than anything else.
Surf Camp
My son has been attending Surf Camp for the past two years and counts the days until the next one starts. He's been attending the overnight camp at UC San Diego and has made some great friends from across the US. He had never been surfing before taking lessons with them, but took to it immediately. The instructors are great with the kids because they only allow a small group, so each child has the full attention of their adult couterpart. The school does a fantastic job. My son will be back again this summer.
Mission Bay Sportcenter
We love the Mission Bay Sportcenter. Whenever we want to have a fun day in Mission Bay, we'll rent waverunners, kayaks, pedal boats and even a catamaran if we have friends with us. We own a boat but not the toys to go with it. The Sportcenter makes it so easy and convenient not to own any of the water toys. Why bother when you can rent one from here? We've talked about buying a pair of waverunners for the family, but I just don't see the need right now.
Commercial Carpet Care
We had Commercial Carpet Care do a thorough cleaning of our old house prior to moving out. They did a very good job of cleaning every single carpet and drapery in the house. I inspected each room as they were complete and gave them the approval as they went along. There were a couple of spots in the family room I had to have them go over a few times, but they were able to get the spots out. Overall, I was impressed by the care they paid to the house.
Seacamp San Diego
My husband wants our kids to have as many educational experiences as possible. He loves everything connected to the water, so it was important to him that our kids got to experience a more hands on approach to the ocean. He found Seacamp San Diego, which is an amazing marine life camp familarizing kids with their ocean surroundings and the creatures that live there. Both of my kids have gone through Seacamp I and II, and want to be a part of the SCUBA program this summer. This is a tremendous and fulfulling opportunity I'm so thankful my kids have been able to be a part of.
Dregs Skateboards
My brother in law got my 14 year old son hooked on skateboarding. The child can't get enough of the boards, or decks as he calls them. Dregs Skateboards is one of the places he asks to be taken to and where he would spend his whole day if we would let him.
