Delicious fresh sushi and live music! Where better to enjoy raw fish than on an Island? Sushi rock won't disappoint in that regard.
The Ackerman gallery is beautiful, and has lots and lots of local art. It is a lovely space, and the staff is more than happy to let you wander and enjoy, with no hard sell.
Small, decent cafe-type food. Sandwiches and salads are good, especially the pasta salad. Service was challenging and slow.
Yummy and classic Hawaiian mixed plates. The classic Hawaiian mix plate is some kind of protein (I had chicken strips) with about 2-3 sides: mac salad, potato salad, and fries. Very kid-friendly and a must to try in Hawaii at least once!
Great general grocery store. Nice selection of food, canned goods, and fresh local items. Good ethnic food selection for such a small store, which makes sense for Hawaii.
Luke's place is a relatively new addition to the Hawi strip. The food and drinks are very good and the karaoke is a big draw!
Delicious food, and my favorite pina colada on the big island! It's more like a slushy than a drink. Seafood is fantastic, though on the pricier side. Live music every week!
Nice, upscale gift shop with unique items. Many (or most) are local and not the mass-produced, made in China junk available at lots of places.
I love this sweet coffee shop. Delicious coffee, sandwiches, and live music Sunday mornings. The oat cakes are delicious- I've been unable to find anything like them, anywhere else. They also serve local island dreams ice cream and have a good gift shop.
Very ice little nail shop on the East side. Massage chairs, lots of colors, what else could you need or want?!
