Order the small chef salad with barbeque tofu -- yes, tofu -- and dig in. Believe me, the small is plenty (especially for lunch). Great tea selections, fantastic little bakery and a hip crowd of folks from Capitol Hill. Some creative pizzas and wraps, too. Funky & really, really good. High cuisine? No. Good stuff? Yes.
Friendly, friendly, friendly. They will get to know you if you are a regular and meet every need. Always on time, always on top of your needs--good repair service and tailoring too. I had a suit re-fitted and it came out beautifully. Just a great neighborhood service.
Solid, straight-ahead neighborhood place with a little bit of everything from Mexican to (of course) Greek. The salads are wonderful and you can't beat a breakfast burrito on the weekends. When the patio opens in the summer--and I use the term patio loosely--it's a happening spot. Low key & unpretentious all the way.
Different flavors than your average Mexican food -- just something very good about the food here that clicks it up a notch. I'm no expert but this food comes from a different family (or maybe a different state) than the traditional "Denver Mexican" stuff. Great vibe too. We love it.
After just a few months in the neighborhood, the staff in this store knew my name and helped me with every detail. A ton of stuff is packed into this small store and they make sure it's right. They will help you find the one right screw or bolt for a 6 cent sale even if it takes 10 minutes of digging through the drawers. Half the time, you're greeted right at the door and escorted to the aisle, if not the item itself, that you need.
Tucked into an odd little storefront (did it used to be a gas station or auto mechanic's place), Peter's Chinese is the perfect neighborhood Chinese spot. What's not to like? A longer menu than most, some great seafood options and a fresh, clean taste to all they do. We live a block away and love the aroma in the neighborhood when they are cooking. Nothing groundbreaking--and the interior isn't a place that makes you want to linger, exactly-- but it is tantalizing. We get takeout all the time and it's very dependable.
Maybe a tad bit more expensive than many places, but never a question about getting it done right, fast and ontime. Love the shuttle to work and clear communication right down the line. A family place you can trust.
I have no problem with Starbucks, but why anyone within a 10-block radius of this place would go anywhere else is beyond me. Fantastic people, great coffee and coffee drinks and fantastic lunch menu too. This place is focused on customer service like they mean it -- and they do.
