Many years ago, my companion dog endured a gastric torsion event that required very extensive abdominal surgery to save his life. Unfortunately, Dr. Choyce was our vet at the time, but up to that point we'd only had the dogs in for routine vaccinations, etc.
After the dog's surgery, we changed vets because there simple wasn't time to shop around for a vet. Dr. Choyce may technically be a competent vet, but he was far more concerned with and far too about collecting his fee than he was saving our dog's life. It was a frightening experience and his manner was exceedingly cold, clinical and mercenary. To this day, I believe to him our dog's survival was totally secondary to his fee. It's possible that his manner has changed over the years, but I do NOT recommend this vet.
