I used to love this dental office b/c I thought the hygienist was very thorough and my teeth felt so great after the cleaning, and the fact you can watch tv while they work on you. I didn't think much about the fact the dentist isn't very present unless you need work - that's how my prior dentist's office ran. However, last appointment I made with my regular hygienist, I ended up sitting in the office for 1 hr 30 minutes before they took me! I arrived 15 minutes prior to appt time, sat there for 30 minutes before the receptionist mentions they are a little behind and she'll be out in just a minute, and then an hr later I was called in (and this appt was not even late in the day). I would have left because I thought it was so rude, but I scheduled a babysitter for this appointment and to get to the office is a 45 minute commute so it would have been probably more inconvenient to leave. So after my long wait, a different hygienist came out to get me, not the one I booked the appointment with. I was annoyed because my hygienist is the reason I come to this office. I would have appreciated if she came out and apologized she was running behind, and asked if I minded going with someone else. It would have made all the difference. During the cleaning, the new hygienist asked me if I wanted a screening for gum cancer. Sure. Upon checking out, I find out that insurance doesn't cover this. Another $50 on top of my bill. Again I would have appreciated a heads up from them ("let's check if your insurance covers it"). On top of that I need to come back to fill two potential cavities, which the biller tells me I'll have to pay $200+ for. (at my previous dentist I never remember paying so much out of pocket!) Anyway, it's a shame because I used to really love coming here. So bottom line is that it's time to move on to a new dentist.
