You could not understand why this place is gone if you have gone on a weekend but it is closed. If they have relocated they need to post it somewhere. Missing the seafood gumbo..
Closed down and not open anymore. You must find another one if you wish to eat here. The review has to be 100 characters so that is why this is going on. I just wanted to warn anyone who might want to go here.
I am told at one time this place was good but my experience is definitely below that. To start the place was not very clean and it too quite some time to get our drink order (two iced teas). Service on the food order was 35 minutes with the restaurant half full. The lasagna was bland and the Alfredo sauce was milky. I felt this would be what I think the McDonalds of the Italian food would be except a lot slower and pricier. Was not really close to being good and we will not return.
.Check the dates on some of the reviews they are severely outdated. This place in 2011 is a rat hole frequented by transients taking baths in the restroom sink and gang members. The food is hopefully clean but the employees are not. Depending on what time of day you go you are just taking your chances. If you want a good Whataburger you need to go to the new on Pin Oak Rd.
While the service and atmosphere was great the food was about par for a bar and grill. If you really want to spend time there you will find a bill at the end not to your liking. The price just does not warrant many visits when there is so many other places with better food and prices. Probably why they were sooo nice?
I would have given four stars for there brown gravy alone next to a very good entree set up. The sides are most days good and somedays over cooked or misseasoned. The breakfast quality is what brings the stars down. Deep fried overcooked bacon, burnt pancakes and unfiltered or poorly filtered water left a funny taste in my mouth. I would suggest not missing lunch or dinner but take a pass on the breakfast. I have personally never liked dark brown gravy but OMG I have to have it here. Chopped steak and mashed potatos are wonderful.
Mostly clean and the food comes out fast and decent. There is a little cluster scrub at the counter with trying to pick up your order when busy and the drinks are good one day and bad the next. Over all the best fast food place in Sealy.
Once you get past the heavy chain smokers section near the front door I suggest sticking to dessert and coffee. Most of their pies and cakes are outsourced and really good. Now the notion that this is home cooked or somewhere near that is laughable. Most of the general dinners are just a step above microwave TV dinners and the caliber of a VA Hospital cafeteria. Their breakfast is a little better with exception that they mass cook and it is difficult to get your eggs cooked to order. I had to send my eggs back three times before I just said to heck with it and ate it like the felt like cooking it. Hash browns have lots of grease and the grits are nasty. The bacon was good though it was not warm when they sent it out. Oh yes the general restrooms lead you through the heart of the chain smokers but I understand they have another single restroom somewhere in the back. As another had said it does take a long time to get served and to put your order in.
Weak drinks, bland food and poor management hinder what could be a diamond in the rough. Instead it's a tar ball on the beach, good location but poor execution and they must do something about the roaches! Change the cooks and minimize that ridiculous menu will take you a long way.
My wife and I have had many entrees here and most have been excellent. For ambiances and romantic you will not find a better place in a thirty mile radius. The oil and bread is really good so don??t pass that up. The only negative thing I could say is sometimes you get the young waitress that is a little on the slow side but it??s all manageable and fun.
