haha, i love to read reviews for places that have such divergent opinions. I can't understand how people would think this place is anything below 3 stars. The food is so unmistakably 5 star. I'm thinking they came here and were expecting california rolls.
This place is great for the sushi purist. They don't dabble in any un-sushi. So they do a great job with the fish. The fish is so fresh. When you smell it, there's no fishy smell. The fish melts in your mouth. Everything is exactly as it should be. I'm a pretty adventuresome person so I love the omakase. I don't do well with raw shrimp or sea urchin, but I can eat pretty much everything else.
Dr. Mcneill is fantastic. The staff is great. Appointments are a bit difficult to make and it can take while to get in. But Dr. McNeill really seems to know her stuff and I feel I'm in good hands.
So, first things first. I was referred here by a friend, whose stylist is Kerri. She loves her and loves going to this place. She's been going to BH for about 3-4 years, I think. Never a complaint.
The place itself is very nice. I like the look. It looks very upscale, etc. I had no trouble finding it. I booked the appointment without problems and the receptionist was very friendly when I made the appointment.
When I got to the salon there was some confusion about my appointment. they straightened it out after about 15 minutes. I still had to wait around for another 15 minutes to get seated. My stylist, who wasn't Kerri, must not have been having the best day. Also my cut was just so-so.
My overall experience wasn't great. I would only go back if I could get Kerri as a stylist.
