Fast Water Heater replaced a water heater at my house that had reached the end of its useful life. They were one of Home Depot's approved contractors. Overall, I think they were prompt, professional and performed their service very well. The price however, seemed quite high to me. There were several items that needed to be done beyond just hooking up the water heater (part of the basic installation price). None of this work was particularly challenging, but probably enough to justify an additional charge. Fair enough, I don't begrudge them charging for the additional work, but their pricing structure is such that each small work item is priced out separately which masks the fact that my total installation price of $1500 included about $600 in parts and about $900 in labor. The plumber efficiently completed his work in about 2 hours. Thus my labor rate worked out to about $450 an hour. The service and work was professional and done quickly, but I'm feeling a little burned on the effective labor charge.
