The principal, is Ms.Crane and she has been here for many years. This is truly her school. I cannot say enough about her. She really and truly cares for each student. My children went here and I feel they received a great education in their six years. In recent years, Ford has increased its grade size to include up to Grade 8. This school really cares and caters to the children and the community. Many of the students are low income and the school tries to help them in many ways such as doing little fund raisers so no child will be left out of a field trip because he or she hasn't the money. Thank you Ms. Crane and her great staff.

This Middle School is an amazing middle school. Because the location is so great, students in the Avalon and the Commonwealth area can attend this middle school without having to worry about First Colony Middle School, the other great middle school around, being too far. Many students that attend Fort Settlement Middle School say that it is a great school that will prepare kids for Clements High School that is just around the corner!

I just move to New York from North Carolina and i think Fort Hamilton is a Great School as far as education wise. The students are very nice towards their teachers and other students ( some times). I get along with my teachers great and if I ask a question ( which I do alot) they have no problem answering my question. I know there are fights like 24-7 but it's high school you are going to have a few kids that do not care about there education. We have some at my old school ( Garner High School ).

This School is really nice, clean and has great teachers. They really made school fun while you learned. That is a good thing with the young kids. I really liked going to school here.
The play grounds, fields, and the school are kepted up and look great. I highly recommend this school. A+++

Nelsen is a nice middle school, offering kids in grades 6-9 a great education. They just put in new lockers this year, 2005 and I believe are updating other things inside the school.
Class sizes are average. The teachers all have email addresses to make it easy to stay in contact with them. One thing that could be better in communication from the teacher before a huge problem arises. Like if your child is goofing off and has had several warnings and the parent is not contacted until the situation gets serious.
The 6th grade goes on a field trip every year to the Federation Forest State Park. Since it's part of the curriculum, it's not likely to be cut anytime soon.
They have Incentive Days where the kids who are getting C's and better get a half-day to do sports, go to a dance, etc.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with my son attending here.
